True and that's not even getting into the simulated, substitute and synthetic MW's. WTF!

Khan was a simulated MW. Brook was definitely a substitute MW, since Eubank lost his pen, and I'll say Kirkland is the synthetic since he can't seem to find a weight class

What makes you say Golovkin was the bigger man on fight nite? GGG is taller but Canelo looked more muscular to my eye.

typically when a fighter is proposing a fight/event and he cant get a signature from the chosen opponent he moves on to plan b.....loeffler has even stated thats how they operate....that they usually have a list of 4 or so guys and start at the top......

so how come all of the sudden ggg didnt have any other options besides eubank and had to fight brook? dont you usually go to plan b at a certain time? unless of course you are lying and kell brook was plan A all along but you couldnt tell us that cause you would get slammed right?

Because like Hearn said, they had a deal 90% done. It was basically erase Eubank name and insert Brook. Or they could have gone back to square one with another team. If I remember correctly, it was around the time Canelo vacated (or something with Canelo) and they had lost a lot of negotiating time. So time was of the essense

Here's where you get schooled again!

Lara, Kirkland, Angulo weren't title fights, the premise of the entire thread you can hopefully figure out about them fighting abouve 155 way before Nelo.

Cotto and Alvarez was perfectly fine. Suleiman allowed Cotto his catch weights against Martinez, Geale, and Alvarez. Cotto was A-side in all circumstances.

Lastly, Amir Khan, a more reasonable 155 as Nelo continues to stay consistent with his first Defense at Middleweight giving Khan an opportunity at the catchweight.

Golovkin was a chicken to even give a cacth to Brook when the UK fighter asked for it. Again, as in my first post, a catchweight is middle ground between classes. If Lil'G was so confident that he would beat Brook in any circumstance he would've given the Brit a shot at the catch. Instead not only does Lil'G take the fight, but he downplays his opponent...not even Floma did that to Rigo for a guy who also ducked a catchweight.

Lil'G and Abel dont like fighting Southpaws. It is one of the many reasons why they didnt fight him in Astana for a possible upset and risk.. Hearn already had John Ryder on his stable at 160. He couldve been the replacement for Eubank Jr. easily. Hearn most likely offered Ryder to K2 but they declined. Ideally Hearn wouldnt waste Brook's value to Golovkin. HBO and Matchroom needed to finalize the dates.

Ryder's a big guy too, he already moved up to 168... gee whatdyaknow...

Seriously, Alvarez had the ability to drop weight and fight at 154 without hurting his performance. "if you're not struggling to make weight, you're fighting in the wrong division."
That said, just look at the two fighters and you can see GGG has no size advantage over Canelo. It's just ignorance and hate saying otherwise and there's no reasoning with that mindset.

what does canelo have to do with it? he obviously wasnt in the picture at all....

the picture that hearn and loeffler painted was that they had no time and no choice but to take brook as a replacement......i understand that...my question is .....90 percent of a deal done means nothing without a signature.....when you dont have a signature/deal with someone by a certain time you move on to your next target.......why did k2 wait so long that brook was their only choice last minute? unless of course they wanted brook all along

its simple....you dont have a signature say...i dunno...2 months out ? you move on? but they dilly dally'd with eubank till the last minute with no signature? what kind of business is that?

its obvious BS from hearn and loeffler

This is the biggest Canelo has fought and had to gain more muscle mass for effect. Nelo has the bigger Deltoids, but overall mass, Lil'Gs pecks and torso is bigger than Nelo.

Golovkin does look bigger in that photo.
