GGG landed 110 power punches to Canelo's 114 LOL...

Why is everyone in the media a fan boy? The days of objective reporting is done - everyone thinks his/her opinion matters when it really doesn't. This writer has no credibility.

His write-ups are solid work and probably the best thing this site has going. Despite "punch stats" I think we all can agree GGG wasn't landing much solid work in that fight. (And I picked him to win by stoppage.) The only person being a "fanboy" is you.
Before the first Kovalev/Ward fight Breadman did an analysis of both men, and what he thought was going to happen in the fight. He finished by saying his head was telling him Kovalev should beat Ward, but because of a gut feeling, and rumours he'd heard about Kovalev not "living the life" he was picking Ward to win.

I posted a comment saying Bread's gut feeling was nothing but pro American bias - him not wanting to pick against the US establishment fighter - then look what happened in that fight!

I would never dismiss anything Breadman says about the US scene after that. That guy knows what's going on and he tells us as much of it as he can get away with in his mailbag - without betraying anybody's secrets.

Yeah you're right his bias showed against the Charlos for a while after the Charlo/Jrock fight, but he seems to have recovered and moved on from it.

Where did you pick that up?

I've never heard they were any more sus than other successfull outfits.

Tbh doe, after what happened with the Fury's, and other non boxing related PED controversies involving UKAD and the UK sports establishment, nothing would surprise me now.

So it doesn't matter if you say Sugar Ray has Length, height, reach, combo speed, power, etc etc over Floyd when Floyd is just gonna go in there and take all of that away from Sugar Ray.

The only way to know for sure is if they duke it out in the ring because all the analyses you can come up with is pointless when someone has that troll ability that Floyd does.
True doe. Floyd is so intelligent in the ring, physical attributes are just not enough to beat him. He completely neutralizes opponents in the ring but Leonard is not your regular great opponent too so we just will never know.

The most annoying to me are Tyson vs Ali fight talks. I get so angry I don't even comment on Tyson fans picking Tyson to win by looking at media Ali of the 70s.

Although we've debated a few times, especially regarding GGG, I can tell you're pretty objective! Bread is very good, and I was pleased to see that he backs up my point about Geronta Davis:

Loma’s big advantage over Davis is maturity...

There seems to be a disconnect among urban talents these days. A large % of them seem addicted to their cell phones and social media. I’m not saying this is the case with Davis because I have never watched him train in the gym. But I do see a lack of concentration from him in fights...

I also think Leonard Ellerbe and Floyd Mayweather know what they are doing as far as matchmaking. Davis is their best young talent. I don’t believe they would put Davis in the ring with Lomachenko at this point. Mayweather was an international amateur. He respects the game. He knows how good you have to be to be dominant on the international level...So I don’t think this fight has a chance of happening anytime soon.

I've been lobbying on this site, for a CW fight between Pacquiao vs. Lomachenko @ 135-140, and I haven't seen a lot of posters interested in seeing this fight. What's your opinion? If not Pacquiao, what does Loma do? It's starting to look a lot like GGG's situation!

Great mailbag as usual. And I totally agree: Great as Floyd was I'm certain he would have lost to SRL, and most likely to Hearns too.

floyd would put loma in a body bag at 130. mofos need to calm all the way down.

i don't think davis is "scared" of loma. his promoter simply doesn't think its the right time. if they fight now that fight is only huge for hardcore fans. that matchup can build into something bigger same as loma vs mikey.

i agree loma should focus on cleaning out 130. davis doesnt even have a belt.

fighter of the year is hands down crawford. he became undisputed thats a huge deal in this era of infinite belts and politics.

trainer of the year is virgil hunter. his fighter ward had the biggest victory of the year. jermall beat heiland this year, jermell beat hatley and lubin, spence beat brook, loma beat sosa, marriaga and rigo. crawford beat diaz and indongo..

sergey kovalev is a better, more prime and elite opponent than all these guys combined. its an easy choice for me. hunter wins. and if not for bud becoming undisputed I would also pick ward for fighter of the year.

ray leonard is too much of a killer for mayweather. he can match his speed and slickness but also has killer instinct. he stops floyd late rounds.
