Where does the myth arise from that Vasyl Lomachenko has been a weight bully?

Anybody successful is going to generate haters. If you're great at something, people who are great at nothing are going to be upset. The only two factors that matter to determine the weight advantage a boxer has over his opponents is to check the official weigh in to ensure the boxer makes the appropriate weight and the fight night weigh in to check how much weight advantage a boxer has over his opponents during the bout itself.
However, there is no doubt that Top Rank's (very wise) matchmakers, have had a pattern, for decades, of targeting current or former champions from a weight class or two below when they're searching for an opponent. Especially if it's not going to be an in house fight.
Weight classes exist for a reason. The best at 130 will typically dominate the best at 122. This is common sense for anybody that understands the sport. But in a business of minimizing risk and maximizing reward, it's a tactic Top Rank has used over and over. As they should. They're running a business. Until the general public is educated enough to understand how much of a difference one or two weight classes can make, this type of intelligent matchmaking is going to continue.Comment

Ward fought his entire pro career under what he fought as an amateur. LOL
The ones who started that Loma argument were just desperate to find something to pick on. They never realized that in the Amateurs, the fighters don't weight drain.Comment

Except it's not just one person though. There are two users that I can name on this very forum that have made threads related to Lomachenko apparently being a 'weight bully'. They are McNulty and Lalinproductions. I've also encountered this myth going around in other online forums too.Ok and? That's one person. That's not popular opinion here nor anywhere else. Perhaps read my whole statement next time. I said one person saying it doesn't make it popular opinion.
And I haven't watched the video but he was probably talking about Loma fighting guys moving up. I wouldn't use weight bully to describe that. Weight bully is cutting extreme weight to stay in your weight class for an advantage
The first purpose of this thread is to find out from those individuals that are claiming that Lomachenko is a 'weight bully', as to what they base that claim upon. The second purpose of this thread is to debunk this myth using facts.
Not sure why you had to come with a very aggressive approach to my thread.Comment

You make a good point. Except, the actual facts (numerical value for weights) suggests that Vasyl Lomachenko, excluding his bouts against Guillermo Rigondeaux and Miguel Marriaga didn't have a significant weight advantage against any of his other opponents on fight night and didn't fail to make the appropriate official weight.Anybody successful is going to generate haters. If you're great at something, people who are great at nothing are going to be upset.

On fight night, he was either outweighed by his opponents. Or he only had a marginal weight advantage, no more than 3 pounds or he and his opponents weighed the same. For one to proclaim any boxer is a 'weight bully', they must provide evidence that said boxer has a significant weight advantage over his opponents during fight night or was unable to make the official weight.
Orlando Salido was a 'weight bully' against Lomachenko. Terence Crawford has been a weight bully in many of his bouts. Where I've seen him having around 10 pounds of weight advantage over his opponents during fight night.Comment

Yeah, that is hilarious. Same day weigh-in's so no cutting weight so fighters clearly fighting around 8-10 lbs more than they would as pro's and that was aged 24 so clearly the man's natural fighting weight is as a Featherweight.Comment

Floma has been fighting at 132 since 2011. It doesn't matter if there's a sam day weigh in, that means you're acknowledging draining that pros do. Floma been fighting at 135lb+ on fight nights, and even more in recent bouts. So from 126 to 135lb, what's the need to jump 10lbs? That means he's cutting weight as most boxers do. Vs a guy like Floyd who had HBO groahics showing a 1lb or 2lb boost from the weighin.
It's common sense. If Floma was hitting 132 since 2011, then he could've started pro at 130lbs and gained 2lbs similar to Floyd. Instead he chose to hit 126.
4lbs Floma is willing to make a difference in his career I'm fine with...
154-168 ez fomi should be more critical....and not giving in to any other weights...but says it's easy...Comment
