Maidana lost to Floyd and turned into Erik Estrada.

I was thinking more along the lines of Gerald McClellan after losing to Nigel Benn. Perhaps that is a bit too grim and to the point.
i was being serious though. after floyd should have lost to castillo he didnt really fight any good prime fighters besides the castillo rematch. obviously this is up for debate but lets name the really good prime fighters...imo canelo is the only one but i dont pesonally think canelo was prime at that point and he was drained as hell. that loss or should be loss shook his confidence and really made him think about opponent selection. the fear of losing paralyzed him and he never took on any real challenges afterwards that he knew he could lose. a couple times he miscalculated and almost lost but cherry picks gone wrong dont count

He fought quite a few top 10 P4P fighters. Being viewed as 1 of the 10 best fighters in the sport not good enough opposition or is that only for Maywweather?

i dont pay attention to the silly ring p4p list. they thought 39 year old mosley was one of the best fighters in the sport after doing nothing for years and years then clinching margarito nonstop before stopping him.

also if you think guys like mosley, marquez, pac, etc...were prime when floyd fought them.....well we just have a different opinion.

thats kind of the whole point of cherry picking. getting them when they are ripe. when they still have some hype but are no longer as good. thats what floyd did to perfection

Pacquiao and Roach thought Mosley was too, refused to fight him because he was "too good"

Prime A level fighters aren't so common believe it or not. The one that was prime turned down a 50/50 split with Mayweather (even though Mayweather was a bigger draw) because he didn't want to be drug tested.

P4P is a ranking system, Mayweather beat world class fighters viewed as among the best in the entire sport. I also believe he beat more world champions than anyone else. Easily the best resume of his era and most agree.

Lennox Lewis vs. Rid**** Bowe in the Olympics. Bowe had a yellow streak thereafter.

Gary Russell Jr., since the Loma loss, he now believes he is a clone of himself. He sure speaks highly of the other Mr. Gary Russell Jr.

hmmm i see you aren't being realistic and are in full floyd love mode. floyd killed the fight. 40 million flat offer ring a bell? you always ignore that one...you simply cannot defend that duck. and that was a prime pac.

p4p is an opinion system. it also doesnt tell you if a fighter is prime or not so im not sure why you are deflcting with these same tired arguments. what prime greats did he beat? just name them. 39 year old mosley right? ok i disagree. who else?

once again i ask you to tell me the prime greats he beat and you can't come up with a single one. how can you be a great fighter without any great wins? are you a great baseball player if you are the minor league homerun champ? i think not. this is the pros and he never faced the best when it mattered. you are right there arent that many greats around but he managed to stear clear of them and now he has to pay the price when it comes to breaking down his career. there are no fantasy sympathy points for guys who never fought greats. does calzaghe have the 2nd best reumse of his era? lmao

Broner v. Maidana. AB was on top of the world, next Mayweather, next PPV star, next fighter of the decade, etc., etc. HBO was shoving him down our throats...

Now he's a stepping to to up-and-coming fighters. That loss changed his life.
