So I guess Wilders is right to an extent, as foreigners do get more love here in the U.S.
Mike Tyson was popular and is actually pretty likeable in celebrity surroundings how do you fit that in? There is a lot more to a person than being black. Yes you could be disliked simply because of that but also 1000 other reason, and you don't really seem interested in factoring in different aspects but more like you've already made up your mind.

Ward isn't all that exciting as a boxer let alone person... it doesn't have to be more complicated than that.

It's easy to dismiss what Wilder is saying, it seems, because his resume doesn't hold up. However, we all know that some of the challengers that were a step up in competition for him failed drug tests and the fights were canceled, so he can't be the complete blame for this.

Here's something to think about. The Williams sisters, especially Serena, have been very good to dominant in women's tennis, yet if you go to ESPN's website and look at the viewers comments regarding them, you will see that a large portion of US fans root for foreign players instead of the Williams sisters. What's the reason for that?

America does indeed have issues regarding race. Always has, and perhaps always will. I don't think it's fair to completely dismiss what he is saying when there is proof right in front of our faces.

However, this may simply be a case of Heavyweight boxing falling off the map in the US, and Wilder not getting the fights that get people behind him. My brother in law who was a huge Tyson fan has not been able to name a heavyweight champion in years. If Wilder takes out Ortiz and then gets Joshua, let's see if he gets the respect he believes he deserves. He just needs to keep performing, though I do agree he should have the backing of his home country fans.

GGG fought 3 or 4 times per year against the best in his division and worked his socks off promoting himself and his fights.

Ward is boring, in and out of the ring. He did nothing to promote himself and even came and said that he didn't owe boxing fans anything and didn't give a damn what they thought of him or the cans he was fighting and trying to make fights with at the time.

He's right in a big way.

If some huge white heavyweight boxer in the U.S. was having the success Wilder was, they'd be all over the ****ing news. Wilder is 100% right here.

Along the same lines, say a 6' 7" muscular black guy became a grand master of chess and was beating all of these lifelong chess masters from all over the world. Would they do a special interest piece all over the news about this?

I think the media goes after whatever makes a good story. I don't think the media in and of itself is racist/sexist/ageist or anything like that, but they will report on whatever will sell as a story. If the public won't bite, or if the media will catch backlash from donors, they won't report on it.

During Tysons heyday, he wasn't liked at all except by Blacks. Once he got with King after Cus died, any White fans he had left jumped ship too, lol

There are Americans that would rather cheer for a white foreign fighter than for a black man born and raised in the USA.

                      It's sad but true.
