Comments Thread For: Saunders: Golovkin is 35 Now, Can't Keep Up To Outbox Me

Golovkin's boxing skills are typically overshadowed by fans demand for KO's. GGG soundly outboxed Lemieux with a ramrod jab, good balance, and control of range. He didn't need to flamboyantly float around the ring like a ballerina acting like a goose to get Lemieux out of there.
I'd still bet my dollars on a 38-year-old Golovkin pounding Saunders into saw dust over 12 rounds, but GGG does need to get back to a solid body attack and combination punching, which was frustratingly non-apparent during his bout with Canelo.

He does have BY FAR the p4p #1 resume especially for being 27 yrs old, he's the face of the sport no matter how much you stay in denial from hate & he has way more of the best fighters on his resume than ANY other current fighter & even if clowns wanna claim he lost all his semi close fights vs the best, hes gone toe to toe with them all without so much as ever being hurt,& he now has yet another supposed boogieman fighter on his resume in ggg.Last edited by kushking; 12-23-2017, 12:52 AM.

Unless you are using something you are sliding no matter what..in some cases genetics favors people so it's not as visible but ain't no way in hell an athlete isn't declining after like 31/32..they might able to muster a masterful performance but definitely not the same way or with the same consistency as they could in their 20's.

Gennady might not be able to outbox Saunders
But the pressure he applies for the full 12 rounds is something else and no one yet has shown that they evade it for a full fight
Canelo had to run backwards for most of the fight just to avoid getting KOd and Jacobs while putting up a valient effort got caught early in the fight and acted like he just survived hell when the bell rang
I'm a fan of both and Gennadys seems to aging quick but for Saunders to be successful he has to be on his toes for the full 36 minutes

This is why Floyd even later could do things easily because of experience and ring IQ.

He ran and did what he had to do to survive.
A draw wasn' t justified. Canelo won some rounds but It wasn't really a close fight
Even if you ignore the disgraceful 118-110 scorecard. The ref that had it a draw gave the 7th to Canelo and there is no way that was a Canelo round
Just take solace that Canelo got another gift decision that he didn't deserve.
The fact Gennady went home with all his straps should let you know that he won the fight.
