They never said they staying at 140 hell mikey even said he staying at 135 he just been taking risk at a weight class above for the challenge and names/oppurtunity. He said hes glad the WBC mandated the linares fight next. He sees himself as a 135lber he said.

Only thing Mikey says is that BOB ARUM is likely unwilling to make the fight because of their bad history, which isnt a outrageous assumption to make.

How, He wanted easter but easter and haymon has another route for themselves.

He wanted linares but without the 3 fight extension attached to the deal, when GBP got wind that showtime was gonna offer mikey a title thats when he desperately tweeted "okay face linares without any options, or any extras" but it was too late mikey already started making moves in the other direction.

He was gonna face cotto but wisely ruled against it, 3 weight class hop is too much + GBP wanted fight extension etc.

Fight extension is the reason he left TOP RANK for.
