Parker is currently a 'belt holder', just like Charles Martin was once a 'belt holder'. Neither are going to be mentioned among the top heavyweights of their era. Former 'belt holder' Bermane Stiverne was arguably better (and more accomplished) than Parker. Being a belt holder doesn't mean what it used to. Parker, because he's not a complete fool, would prefer to fight the easiest opponent for the most money. Hence his eagerness to face Joshua. Parker knew who he wanted to fight when he saw Joshua go 'life and death' against old man Klitschko in front of a stadium full of fans.

Parker predicted Klitchko would win so it has nothing to do with going life and death it wouldn't have mattered who won , team Parker would follow the money . Either Klitchko or Joshua would beat Parker .Parker is currently a 'belt holder', just like Charles Martin was once a 'belt holder'. The fact Joshua will be improved than the one Klitchko fought doesnt hold any favors for Parker who was not on Joshua level at any point in their careers .Comment

If Joshua had stopped Wladimir in the first round, with one punch, Parker would probably be trying to fight some journeyman in New Zealand now instead. Parker saw Joshua get hurt & dropped, and he knew it would be easier than trying to chase Wilder around while getting countered with haymakers from left field. I'm not sure why you think Joshua "will be improved" since the Klitschko fight, considering how listless he looked in his recent fight against Takam. In contrast, Wilder utterly destroyed his most recent opponent, planting the seed of fear in the pit of the heavyweight division's stomach.Parker predicted Klitchko would win so it has nothing to do with going life and death it wouldn't have mattered who won , team Parker would follow the money . Boxing dont work like that , if anything going 11 rounds with Klitchko made Joshua learn more in that fight than his entire career . Parker could easily have said Joshua caught Klitchko early .If Joshua had stopped Wladimir in the first round, with one punch, Parker would probably be trying to fight some journeyman in New Zealand now instead. You're right. Boxing is about money, nobody wants to work for less than they think they're worth. But if you think it's not also about pride, then you're out of touch.
There are obviously those people out there who are only motivated by money, but they're rarely worth mentioning.
Floyd Mayweather is a good example. His nickname is 'money', but he would not be retired if money was his ONLY motivation. There are still countless opportunities for Floyd to make obscene amounts of money, but he's very careful about every move he makes. The amount of money is irrelevant to him if he thinks the risk of losing is too great.
There can be significant money on the table when Joshua fights, but Joshua wants to sit at the table by himself. Parker has to sit at the kiddy table. Parker can earn significantly more than he's ever made before, but it'll still be a tiny fraction of the revenue generated by an event that features Parker's name at the top of the bill. Parker probably is not wrong to feel like he deserves more, especially considering Joshua will get the benefit of every possible advantage (hometown, probably ref, etc). As a major 'belt holder', Parker does not feel like he deserves to be treated as an afterthought.Comment

Reality check:
The stoppage was a little early, but Takam had taken a lot of punishment, was bleeding into his eye from a bad cut and couldn't see AJ's right hands coming.Comment

Imagine how he would of done, if he wasn't blind for most of the fight.
Takam was still able to avoid AJ's robotic combos with ease.
Parker will clearly give AJ a lot of trouble, if this blind midget can give him problems.Comment

Parker's not much better than Takam tbh and perhaps not as toughComment
