Is Lomachenko afraid of Mikey Garcia?

He already said Mikey is too big for him and would need to move up to 135 and climate to the weight before fighting Mikey. Mikey has also said if Loma really wanted the fight, instead of fighting Marriaga and Loma, who were smaller men from lower divisions, than Loma should have faced a 135 fighter instead of them. Loma was talking Mikey, after he beat Sosa to start the year but ends up fighting smaller fighters. Arum is going to have Loma face another 130 fighter and then fight the winner of Beltran/Moses.No. Loma is a humble guy and will openly admit if he feels someone is too big for him as he did with Crawford. Even called Bud the P4P best right now. If he says he is willing to fight Mikey then I believe him. If there is enough money in it, Arum will try to make it happen.Comment

He said the same thing after beating Sosa and goes on to bring up Marriaga and Rigo from lower weights to fight instead of moving up and fighting at 135 to acclimate to the weight. If he would have moved up to 135 then a fight with MIkey would be realistic but for now its not. Loma has said Mikey is bigger and he would have to move up and acclimate to 135 before fighting MIkey.Lomachenko is like the most willing boxer in the game to take on challenges. The guy has a better resume in 10 fights than most champions in the sport. He takes on the best guys he can at all times. To say he is scared of mikey is hillarious, he even said he wants mikey right after he beat rigo.Comment

the fight simply will not happen as long as haymon is subsidizing mikey with 3.5 million per easy fight. when that money train runs out maybe it will be possible to make a fight between rival promoters for a realistic purse but then again maybe mikey never will come down from that artificially created a-side high horseComment

Right now we don't know what Loma or Mikey are going to do. Mikey if fighting Lipinets, not exactly a compelling fight. For some odd reason he waited for Crawford to announce he was moving up before making a move to 140. Was he moving further out of the weight range of Loma intentionally? Was his break with Arum also a way for him to avoid Loma? Maybe yes, maybe no.He already said Mikey is too big for him and would need to move up to 135 and climate to the weight before fighting Mikey. Loma will continue to have trouble getting fights made. Corrales didn't want any part of him, and we haven't heard anything from Berchelt. A move to 135 has Loma/Linares written all over it. Will Mikey come down to 135 for Loma? Or demand a catchweight? Too many maybe's and unknowns to say that Loma or Mikey are avoiding one another.Comment

if mikey garcia is making 3.5 million to fight lipinets....its going to be hard for him to make any fihts against good fighters since he will want all the money and good fighters wont let that happen. loma-linares is more likely to split 50-50 while garcia will want 90-10 so the fight wont happen. they created another monster.Right now we don't know what Loma or Mikey are going to do. Loma is not bigger than Mikey, especially in California or Vegas. Mikey would draw bigger crowds that Loma. As for viewers, I hope Loma draws more than Mikey since he's fighting a pretty much free TV. But yet he's fighting in small arenas. I know both of them personally and both want the fight but it all depends on if Arum allows it by not asking for options on Mikey or trying to low ball Mikey. Would you consider it a duck if Mikey and Showtime offered Loma around 1.5 mil plus a percentage to fight Mikey on Showtime PPV and Loma and Arum decline? What does "try" to make the fight look like?
Mikey doesn't look like he's trying when he's said he only fights on Showtime and has said he won't work with Arum and also made a lot of excuses about stuff he did years ago and TV ratings.
When in reality Mikey is having his second fight (in a row) at 140, Loma's getting better viewership than Mikey ever got and Arum has said they'd like to make the fight with Mikey.
I think Mikey just has to accept a 50/50 (or 40/60 but I think they'd offer 50/50) fight on ESPN (maybe ESPN PPV) given that he's the B side and ESPN is a great platform. My su****ion is that Mikey will want it at 140 and 60 or 70% split on Showtime and that's obviously not going to happen. Sometimes unreasonable and unrealistic demands (especially as the B side) are a way of not fighting a guy you don't want to fight.Comment

Arum and Loma have been offering all his opponents less than 500k. And you're right good fighters won't let other fighters take most of the money like Loma has been doing with weak opposition. Arum barely paid Postol around 650k for a PPV fight against Crawford. Rigo was paid 400k to fight Loma. Let me ask you something, would Loma and Arum agree to 1.5-2 million to fight Mikey on Showtime if they offered more money than Arum? I seriously doubt that. Linares/Loma is no way 50/50. Linares can barely draw any fans and was paid 250k by GB in his last fight he headlined at the Forum. GB would ask 50/50 like they did with Mikey even though Loma is the draw.if mikey garcia is making 3.5 million to fight lipinets....its going to be hard for him to make any fihts against good fighters since he will want all the money and good fighters wont let that happen. loma-linares is more likely to split 50-50 while garcia will want 90-10 so the fight wont happen. they created another monster.Comment
