Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury: After That Win, Saunders is in Top Ten Pound-For-Pound

Tyson Fury was very impressed with Billy Joe Saunders' performance against David Lemieux and believes he would be a "nightmare for Canelo". Speaking to BoxCaster after Saunders' unanimous decision win, the former Heavyweight king described the bout as "a boxing masterclass against a very dangerous opponent".

Disagree completely but it was a good fight. Jacobs should be ahead of him on account of almost beating GGG who everyone has on their p4p list.

Saunders needs to beat a top dog to be talked about in any p4p discussion. Lemieux has always been a C class fighter

BJS isnt top ten pfp, but against GGG he has to be given a good shot of testing GGG and if BJS wins it wont be too shocking on basis of how he beat Lemieux. BJS was split decision against green Eubank.
But it dont matter if he isnt pfp now. If he beats Nelo or GGG then he will be. No need to be premature about it.

Golovkin was top 3 P4P when his best win was Lemieux.

You know what! Why the heck not? We should have like 25 boxers in the top 10.

The whole P4P list is a mockery at this point.

DJ's best win is over Truax and he's already lost to Pirog a fight he didn't have to avenge, he doesn't have a win as good as Saunders' Eubank who is looking like the future king of 168 or even Andy Lee's win over undefeated gold medalist Korobov.

Lemieux is a c class fighter but he's still the 2nd best scalp on ggg's resume. You also have to factor in how good each guy looked, DJ looked like crap against Arias, Saunders put on a masterclass performance against Lemieux a better fighter.

We already had this discussion in another thread - don't want to retread too much water but Dmitry Pirog was an awesome fighter in his prime when he beat a very young, 22-23 year old Jacobs.

Pirog retired due to injury with a record of 20-0 15KOs and I have no doubt he could have been a world champion at 160 - perhaps not lineal but we never got to see his full potential.

Jacobs' last fight wasn't impressive I'll admit, but he did great vs GGG. I'd consider it an off night.

EDIT: Wasn't Jacobs last fight with a new promoter or cable network? It was a stay busy fight, but I'm sure if he gets another shot at gold, whether it be Canelo, GGG or Saunders he will rise to the occasion again.
