"Now, give the fighter from the 50's all todays training methods, boxing knowledge and styles gathered over the years, advanced diet and conditioning knowledge etc. etc. and then it would be a different story of course"..............

today's training methods............tell me about the methods of today compared to then.

boxing knowledge? their were more styles utilized in the 40's & 50's than there is now. Dozens of fighters fought out of the Philly shell long before Mayweather.

The thought that the fighters and trainers are more versed today compared to someone like Mr. Blackburn is a joke!

Todays boxing is an off shoot from the 70's amateur boxing era. No one fights inside, no one follows up on combination punching and no one has a powered two hand attack.

You can take Sugar Ray Robinson out of the 40's & fifties and would be the welter & middle champ just as he was then. He also had Maxim beat at light heavy and you can't tell me that Koval beats him, he would stop Koval.

learn the history of the men who were true ATG's especially the true TBE p4p King.

It's impossible to name anyone other than Robinson or Armstrong, they fought everyone multiple times, every 2 weeks if necessary.

Each one probably has around 7-10 of the top 100 all-time on their resumes.

Names alone I'd put Floyd's somewhere around 20 or so but it's only two truly great fighters he fought (Marquez and Pacquaio) - that falls short.
Good evaluation. There is no existing video of Grebb but the list of guys he fought and defeated is astounding. He and Crawford were little guys but routinely beat heavyweights! Robinson fought many HOF names....and beat them.

Darnell Boone would be no slouch on a list of people ranked by quality of names fought only.

Ward, Kovalev x2, Stevenson x2, Pascal, Lara
