This is bloodsports, plain and simple. The optimal outcome of every fight is your opponent unconscious. While a bit distasteful to talk of death. These men literally fight for their lives and are certainly aware of the risks.

If these men are concerned for other people's health and well being maybe bludgeoning people for a living is a poor choice of occupation

I agree with almost everything you’ve said, totally get the role of pumping the fight, except to the point of the article, which is saying boxers shouldn’t be talking about killing each other because if it happens...well for starters I think legally could mean they murdered someone and secondly they are professionals...you don’t get tree surgeons driving passed their competitors sites shouting ‘I hope you fall and die’ or queuing up outside a rivals coal mine chanting ‘collapse and die, collapse and die’ these are real risks of the job they are doing, if you’re genuinely wishing death on a competitor you should be in jail or the asylum not a boxing ring.
