  • Comments Thread For: Saunders: Lemieux's Death Talk ******, Disrespectful to Boxing

By Keith Idec - Billy Joe Saunders has talked trash, traded insults and disrespected opponents as much as any boxer in the sport during the past couple years. The undefeated middleweight title-holder has called them every name imaginable, both to their faces and through social media, and has been utterly unap...

Got to agree with Saunders, no need to be talking about killing people in boxing, it’s a genuine reality of the sport and it is pretty classless to go there in statements etc.

Big deal, two men about to bash each others' heads in and he tries and hit back with some subversive emotional appeal - BJS has said the nastiest **** and has been under attack by the 'PC police' before and then he tries the same demonising tactics on Lemieux.

Suck it up Billy, you'll live - just make sure if you get through Lemieux you get a nice retirement package from Canelo or GGG when they bludgeon your head in.

I remember when Lemieux knocked out Stevens and he was lying on th ground lifeless not once did he look over at his opponent or check to see if he was ok. In an already brutal sport I thought that was some low class sh%t. Maybe Saunders has a point.

Ah I didn't notice that. I think there is some level of meaning in how a boxer reacts when scoring a devastating KO.
Canelo showed tons of respect when he KO'd Khan. I remember Marquez running around celebrating after he KO'd Pacquiao so brutally.

Mike Tyson, in all his bipolaredness, would sometimes be totally cold & emotionless and other times would rush over to the person like he was an ER nurse.

Shut up you ****ing idiot. You've casually thrown around disrespect, ****phobia and racism for years and you act all high and mighty when someone trash talks about putting you in a coffin.

I hope BJS gets his hypocritical a$$ knocked out by Lemule.

While Stevens was down he was going around the ring standing on the ropes in each corner celebrating. I was trying to remember when another boxer did something like that and Marquez was the only one I thought of. The circumstances was a little different in that one. Marquez had 3 fights with Pacquiao where he felt he was robbed. The emotions of getting an absolute victory probably got the best of him. I don't think Marquez personally likes Pacquiao. The thing that stood out with Lemieux was there wasn't any history between him and Stevens other than that fight. I've seen Tyson show concern and sometimes he didn't but like you said that was his bipolar kicking in. That moment with Lemieux was a little off for me. This is already a brutal sport and you hate to see the humanity taken out of it completely.

Totally agree, it’s a contest, if you win by KO jobs done, they are all pro boxers, they all gotta work another day and pay the bills, nothing to be gained by putting people in hospital or worse.

I think some people on this forum playing too many video games, i’m pretty sure none of them are helping bring up a dead boxers kids after they got their cheap thrill watching them die at a fight night...show some respect
