a lot of these "slick" guys are really only slick because they have been allowed to break the rules constantly. holding is usually their biggest method. look at how floyd got beat up in the first maidana fight compared to the second. what did he employ to change the fight? nonstop holding. bending below the waist is also another method they use. if rigo was punished for that what would he do??? sitting duck target. its cause they never really developed great defensive skills liks slipping, bobbing and weaving, blocking, parrying. take away their illegal tactics and you get completely different fighters. if your greatness is based on the ref letting you cheat....you might not be so great. difference between henry akwindade and andre ward. economics.

WTF He's not Joe Frazier FFS... that's not his style of fighting.
Rigo is not, and never has been an inside fighter and there is a range at which you are no longer fighting, you are pushing against each other and as you explained, Loma has the height (coupled with sheer mass) which was too much for Rigo to contest with.

You don't have to like it, I don't have to like it, but that's why he did it.

Get caught? I saw Loma throw atleast twenty 6+ punch combos and he hardly ever landed anything REMOTELY damaging.

Yeah, I wonder what the supposed Compubox numbers were for this fight. Neither man landed a telling blow, and I barely detected any scoring blows at all. This wasn’t Lomo’s fault. Had this been a clean fight, Rigo would’ve had his ass handed to him. That’s why he held like crazy and bent at the waist incessantly. He knew if Vasyl got the chance he’d be embarrassed. One way to look at it is, Rigo did everyone a favor by quitting halfway through the bout. Imagine having to watch another six rounds of that garbage.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't like it. I hate holding just for the sake of stalling the action. But, I know why he did it. You can't let a bigger guy be that close to you. You get ***ed up.
Quoted for truth. Anyone who saw the size difference and knows boxing, knows why he was holding.

You doing let a guy that much bigger than you get close enough to rough you up inside.

With that said, Lomachenko was very clearly the better man, size advantage or not.

Rigondeaux was having serious problems pulling the trigger, even when he did, Loma was gone by the time he threw.

                Yeah I agree man.

I have honestly never seen Mayweather or Rigondeaux slip a single punch.

If only they had just learnt how to.

It was embarrassing. He should have never taken the fight if he knew he didn't have the physique to compete. At times he stooped so low and then just stayed there frozen like my TV was paused, it was so cringeworthy and there was nothing wrong with his hand. Just an excuse because he knew he was going to get shamed even more.
