I can't find anything about him or any Edmonton fighter at 175 who fought him. Was it pro or amateur?

He was a pro. He fought in Edmonton about 5-6 times late 90's-early 2000. Had about 15 pro fights mostly in small Vancouver events. He's not on boxrec...it was small time stuff.
