I've actually heard it's Weight Issues.

Rigo is struggling to make 130 lbs so his team withdrew from Media Day to concentrate on bringing down his weight.

I know Rigo is a career 122lb fighter but his team bulked him up to 140 lbs and were planning to bring him down slowly this week to 130lbs but his body isn't responding and his team are now panicking as they don't want Rigo to have to lose lots of weight pre weigh-in.

Don't be surprised if Rigo doesn't make weight on Friday.

Gut says he's punking out a bit here, but want to know if there's a genuine reason first.

Pretty easy to talk smack on social media and setup interviews...a bit different when you've gotta look the guy in the eye.

That's^ what I was referring to. The body is constantly trying to harmonize itself. Weight cutting is traumatic. Bulking to a new high and then cutting can really throw you out of sorts. Your immune system crashes. Your body starts trying to protect itself from what you're putting it through by storing fat.

I hope it's not the case but it wouldn't surprise me.

cute theories about what you heard...

I guess Kovalev was having weight issues too from that Vodka and Burger Kind diet Kovalev had for one of Ward's program appearances for the fight...

I'm not buying it, Rigo has no obligations to make appearances during this week as they prepara for Saturday. the only thing that would matter are pre planned agendas for both promotional teams to set dates for appearances, starting from 5 months ago...with no press conferences whatsover, Roc Nation doesn't have fulfill ESPN's weekly schedule for their fighters.

Rigo just needs to show up for ''whatever'' they want to call it pre final weigh in.

we can also theorize that Rigo and Team, knowing Ward was with Roc, they don't have to play ESPN's game.

This is just plain ******. Is he still promoted by Roc Nation? Is his purse already guaranteed? Need to hear what explanation his team has for why he did this. Ward who was also promoted by Roc Nation and his purse was fully guaranteed regardless if the event flopped or not did the same thing with Kovalev II ditching media obligations. And that was worse because that fight had PPV's you were trying to sell. You want to be a star but this is what the stars do they make the rounds and sell their fights. More eyeballs either get you paid more in this fight or future fights. Skipping these opportunities is like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

It's probably nothing more Roc Nation telling him to skip it. They aren't exactly in the promoting fights business.

People have to remember that Rigo has been close to 122 lbs or below since he started boxing even though his body weight should be higher.

As you've mentioned, once the body acclimatize's with added muscle and bulk to it, its very hard to get off no matter what you do especially at 36 years old.

His team made the mistake of over bulking Rigo to 140 lbs and then removing it rather then just moving up slowly from 122 lbs.

Dan Rafael knows about the threads on this forum. The no promotion talk was getting grind so (he) ESPN decided to make a no set date apperaince on the network and when they asked Rigo and Team to come, and they declined with such a short notice, ESPN and rogue posters here just decided to make it seem like Rigo's team had this date planned.

                    Gwann Rigo!!!
