Of 1m I'd imagine your getting taxed around 40% leaving 600k on the high end and then it's probably 10% for trainer, 10% for manager and then probably 10% for sparring partners and other fee's. I'd imagine around $250k.

Obviously if the purses are like $5-10m purses I don't think the 10% would apply.

Taxes, promoter's fees, managers fees, coach/corner fees, and sometimes sanctioning fees. A boxer earning $1mill I would guess they take home anywhere from $400-500k depending on their contract with their promoter and manager. For example I read Arum was taking 27% from Pacquiao, if you subtract taxes, manager fees and corner fees then you can see how Pacquiao was taking home around $400k from a $1mill payday.

Then would another big chunk be taken out as income tax? And would the income tax rate of the state the fight takes place in apply?
Around 300 thousand give or take depends on deal or if you signed with 2 diff promoters at once like Pac when Oscar pulled the ole Don King trick and showed up at airport with a suitcase full of cash.Fighters are not only ones getting ***ed they pull some s hite too. lolAnd yes they have to pay trainer and income tax depending on state. No they would not be taxed twice at least not state tax.And no they don't pay promoter

Don't forget about Medical bills after seeing a Doctor, after a fight. then it's even worse for you if you didn't get Medical insurance and it's still cost if you have insurance.

So 50% take home after all the bills seems correct fight for 1 million take home 500 thousand or less if your real ****** and have a bad contract.

90% of boxers make their big money on sponsors and Network contracts like HBO, unless your Floyd who makes insane money on both contracts, Floyd will get a 300 million Dollar 7 fight Network contract and then make 100 to 50 million per fight.

So Floyd is talking home 50% of 50 million alone every fight and gets 200 to 300 million for 7 fights with his contract with HBO or Showtime and only playing taxes on the Network contract.

This is why all fighters go broke when they retire, they don't make as much money as you think they do.

Unless your world famous like Muhammad Ali and make million just on your name with sponsors.

Yea 10% for trainer has kind of went away.Esp like you said when it gets over a few million. And for sparring partners it really wild west.I mean some guys pay for all their SP but most just get work with other fighters lookin to get work. And fighters do favor's and then get repaid(with work)from other top fighters.Like Charlo and Spence

Fight Fans we only PRETEND to know but I like to hear from guys who do knows for sure. Maybe this should be one of the questions for Daily Bread Mailbag. Breadman Stephens is a Trainer and Managers so he is part of negotiations for his fighter so he would know how it works.

But I do remember a very interesting quote from his previous Mailbag replying to some IDIOT trying to bash PBC and he broke down to them why guys with PBC are operating without a Promoter:

The reason why so many fighters were operating without a promoter is because Floyd Mayweather skyrocketed without a promoter under Haymon’s guidance. So many others followed. On top of that fighters were making more money on the license fees because promoters were not taking those big cuts of the monies.
So in actuality we don't have a ***ING CLUE how much they really make all we know about is the purse they announce but that doesn't mean that is all they're making from that fight
