By Corey Erdman - Boxing breakups are very rarely of the amicable variety. Most often, they're long, they're drawn out, and they're painful. The fight game isn't the ex that treats you well on the way out, no matter how well you've treated them. Think of Joe Louis, old and decrepit, laying on the ring apron separated from his senses in his final fight. Or Muhammad Ali, slow and flabby, laboring through ten rounds with Trevor Berbick on a shoddily produced event in the Ba*****...

I’m just happy boxing’s diva is finally gone. I’ll always remember that @$$ whooping Margarito, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Trout & now Ali gave him .

Why is everyone so up in Cotto’s panties? Ok, he leaves with another ‘L’ . He’s werent all that special anyway. Pride always comes before the fall. Just sad that he grew too old overnite to receive his farewell early Christmas gift.

Did he run away from this fight after the winner was announced?

Can't see how people can hate on the man so much. He fought the best win or lose and always gave a good account of himself. What's all the hate for why does everyone hate every damn boxer?!

Um, not really? I think most people, including myself, saw Sadam Ali as a cherry pick when the fight was announced, to then go and lose isn't classy or dignified at all. I also don't get this collective hugfest over him now that he's retired, he was very good but far from unbeatable or legendary, and he never seemed like a particularly likable individual either, in fact most of the time it was quite the opposite.
