Lennox for me. Better wins at the sharp end, better on the eyeball test, more versatile.
Yeah Wladimir was the best of a bad bunch.
His chin and stamina issues would hinder him against the best of the best. I couldn't see him surviving against some of the top heavyweights of the 90's, including Lennox and Vitali.
He actually put together a hell of a career, and considering his limitations above, he managed to rebuild and become a dominant champion. His best win is Haye though, who was essentially a blown up cruiserweight, he may have decent height but Haye has a small frame and no physicality to him, in many ways he was tailor made for Wlad.
Klitschko was a master at using his physical advantages thanks to Manny Steward. Though he was past his best, you saw what happened when Wlad faced heavyweights of similar size, who had good ability, guys who could get to his chin, it was a different ball game.
He didn't have any defensive technique, and a lack of a defensive guard. So many times when under fire he would throw his arms out and take steps back, so essentially his reach and his feet were his defence. I think that was his biggest weakness and would have got him exposed more against elite heavyweights. He was overly dependent on clinching to nullify. Fighters who can only fight at one or two distances, are always more vulnerable than fighters who can fight at every distance, and have technique at every distance, but sometimes if that fighter is exceptional at that one distance, it takes an elite fighter to expose it.
