with all the love cotto is getting from fighters and scribes...

adding that to his HOF career....its been glaringly obvious over the last 5 years or so who the real boxing fans are and exposes the fake

whether you are mexican and hate PR fighters, just hate puerto ricans in general or a lil g fanboy still holding a grudge cause lil g refused to fight cotto at a CW.....its obvious if you have ever dissed the crap out of cotto that you are not a real boxing fan....that you are nothing but a fanboy

cotto is getting a ton of love because hes a generational great

Anyone who knows anything about this sport knows that Cotto is one of our generations greatest fighters.

That's why writers and fighters, people who really know the sport, talk highly of Cotto.

Cotto is definitely the best boxer to come out of PR in the past 20 years imo. He's had some losses but he's never been knocked out cold and the losses were always pretty competitive.

He's had the benefit of being a big name boxer so he got away with some illegal tactics in the ring like lowblows and favorable scoring. One thing I'll say about him is his guts, the guy was willing to fight most challenges except GGG but he knew what would happen to him in the ring had he gone down that road. Besides that and how he beat a gimped up Martinez, he's had a stellar ATG career.

He'll win tonight but I feel the fight will be close.

Muhammad Ali got the **** beat out of him, before ending up with The Shakes, and the entire world almost immediately forgot all of the 'Louisville Lip' nonsense that he'd been tagged with for years.

          Don't kid yourself.

Cotto is taking his last fight, and seems to earnestly be ready to walk away from the sport, so folks are giving him props on his way out.

I like Cotto a lot. He always gave us good fights, came prepared and trained his ass off.

I hope he can KO Ali tonight and enjoy retirement.

Cotto is the man! He became a huge star in the sport just by being entertaining and always having exciting fights. Never ducking anyone blatantly like so many other big names around his weight class during their primes.

Outside of the ring he had the personality of a hardcore thug who didn't want to do fake smiles for the cameras, which is why i respect him even more. He wasn't fake for the cameras or publicity.

Never understood why Mexicans even have the PR beef. If a PR fighter fights like a Mexican warrior why so much hate especially if they don't talk shat and are humble and real?

Cotto gets no credit these days for some reason. Probably because he's at the end of a long career and people have no perspective. In a thread the other day, people were laughing at the idea that Cotto might be a better fighter than Marquez. Overrated Marquez who never did much of anything outside of Pac fights.

I'm not a Cotto fan, but hopefully people will look back and remember that he was a pretty good fighter.
