Margarito was never charged with a crime even after the all the information was forwarded to teh D.A., He stated no crime has been commited.

Cotto is just a man with a broken spirit like a dog and once that happens you can never get it back no matter what!
He wants to say it because of this and that and thats how he copes, fact is you can clearly tell Margarito bothers him to his core
and he will always be missing a piece of himself that Margarito took from him in their first fight.

I still remeber the way cotto wife had to calm cotto down when Margarito entered the room, he was gonna have a nervous breakdown.

Hope cotto can retire in peace and live a normal life without being haunted by the image of the man he fears.

That doesn't change the fact that Margo cheated with plaster. Has Margo everbeen known to bust people up?....he's like the casuals around here like to say; feather fisted. After the Cotto fight he got busted for trying to fight Mosley with freaking plaster, if not for trainer Naz. This Mofo would've never been exposed...think about that for a second. And to think he wanted to use that against Mosley but not Cotto, Who was undefeated & processed power in both hands.


He had his spirit broken but got it back by whipping Margocheato in the rematch. You want to complain about the New York officials in the 2nd fight, too fncking bad! What about the freaking Vegas officials. I wouldn't put it past me if someone from that commision was in on it.

Cotto went on to bigger & better things after MargoCheato, won more world titles & made more money.

Margarito always kind of had heavy hands but with hindsight it's fairly obvious something extra was in his wraps the Cotto fight. My theory is that surely the first time wasn't against what was considered a washed up Mosley when you factor in the Cotto fight was considered the bigger and harder fight. Also, the fact his punches never really had much affect on anyone again after the Cotto fight.

Pacquaio hits harder than Margarito (post Cotto) and landed better, sharper punches but it took him a lot longer to really break Cotto. Margarito soon as they started landing it was doing crazy damage whereas in the re-match the punches barely did a thing to Cotto.

I realize that plaster would make a punch harder maybe but what about the padding in the glove? how does the plaster dry when the hands are sweating? How do they sneak it in while the other guys trainer is watching and signs the wraps? how do you sign wraps on wet plaster? do you use a stamp? as far as I see it plaster in wraps are impossible to get by the trainers but titanium rods and plates are allowed which to me should be banned

Here is some testemony from the case that should make you a bit wiser:

CSAC inspector David Pereda, who was in the room, later testified, “Naazim opened the gauze and pulled something out of it. He showed us what appeared to be an old gauze which had been used before and hardened from perhaps being sweaty and wet many times.”

Inspector Guevara testified, “It [the knuckle pad] was a clean new bandage. But within it, in the inner layers of it, was another bandage wrap. It was not as white as a new bandage wrap would be. It was used and it looked almost like it was sweat soaked and that’s what caused it to have the discoloration. It was harder in certain areas than it should be for pure gauze. It was definitely firm and hard. I believe there was a little bit of, it looked like old blood, on it.”

Mike Bray (an inspector who entered the dressing room during the dispute) recalled, “I observed what appeared to be a blood stain on the corner of the pad. I also noticed that it was moist and dirty-looking. The pad had the appearance that it had been used before. After looking at the pad closer, I could see a white substance smeared across the face of the pad and into the gauze. I touched the white substance, and it was hard to touch. It looked like a cast plaster or maybe a thicker type of white out that you would put on paper.”

Lohuis confiscated the knuckle pad and instructed Capetillo to make a new one. Capetillo did so and wrapped Margarito’s left hand. Richardson then asked the inspectors to examine the knuckle pad on Margarito’s already-wrapped right hand. Lohuis instructed Capetillo to remove the right handwrap and a similar insert was discovered inside the pad. Lohuis confiscated that pad as well and ordered Capetillo to prepare a new right-hand knuckle pad.
