Gomez is a liar. Goldenboy wanted Cotto to fight triple G it was way more money than he is gonna make for Ali but Freddie turned it down ,he didn't want Cotto to go out like that. Then Goldenboy said they didn't want ggg to fight before his May rematch with Canelo because they wouldn't have gotten a piece of the Charlo GGG fight

      oh, my apologies..... you're right

the silly excuses you were making for Golovkin put me wrong

I pretty much agree with your take on Cotto, but the selective match-making has really only happened over the last couple of years, and certainly no worse than anyone else

it's not like he dragged a guy up two divisions and tried to get the fight sanctioned or anything

      Cotto fought everyone

taking that Martinez fight took HUGE balls

NOBODY knew that Martinez would break, and NOBODY picked Cotto to win

Sorry but that is just wrong. Many in the boxing world knew that Martinez was already in severe decline by the time the Cotto fight happened. He was a 39 year old guy who had torn ligaments in both knees and one elbow who had fought just once in the previous 21 months and in that fight he looked slow and old and barely escaped with a win in his home country against an opponent in Martin Murray that he was supposed to beat by a much wider margin. The fact that Martinez style was so dependent on movement and mobility, and the fact that it was widely known he was dealing with two injured knees, is what drove the odds down closer to almost even by the time of the fight. It certainly wasn’t some huge upset to anyone who keeps up with boxing.

Goldenboy suck. I dont believe a word of it, the way they use and treat GGG is a disgrace. Golovkin talked of his desire to unify if Canelo delays rematch(understandable), a few days later the WBO suddenly make Canelo no 1 to fight Saunders if he gets past another GB fighter. Corruption at its most transparent!

There simply using GGG's names to try and promote Cotto's next fight that's all.

And I have no issue with Cotto not fighting GGG because he is not a middleweight and shouldnt be forced to fight someone much bigger than himself (he looked much smaller than Canelo when he fought him).
definition of third party- relating to a person or group besides the two primarily involved in a situation.

Primarily involved 1) Cotto, 2)GGG third party GBP.

As far you thinking Cotto didn't ask for the fight, It's your opinion. I'd rate what GBP say's (you know the people who actually work with Cotto), over yours. Or have you spoken to Cotto? You guys buddies? Cotto is retiring, this is his last fight, explain to me how mentioning GGG's name the night before the fight helps sell Cotto vs Ali. LOL

              this is from your article.....

When the fight was first announced, the oddsmakers sided with the conventional wisdom that Martinez would present a step too far for Cotto, already far from the world's largest light-middleweight, and made the Argentine a touch bigger than a three-to-one favourite.....
The layers have made the decision win for the favourite their most likely outcome

find someone who picked Cotto to win

or better yet, link me to where YOU picked Cotto to win

                    timeline:

                    1) Golovkin said " anyone from 154-168 "

                    2) 153lb Cotto said..... I am not a middleweight, all of my future middleweight opponents will be at catchweight

                    3) Golovkin refused, removing himself from the Cotto sweepstakes

                    4) Golovkin then stated that he is willing and able to fight at 154, but nobody will step up

                    5) you blamed Cotto

                    WTF ?????

I would bet my life you gave Golovkin a free pass for Brook

log off man, fk that was a dumb post
Show me one quote where Cotto actually offered to fight Golovkin. Take your time, I'll wait. Cotto sweepstakes?? Cotto's been past prime for 2-3 years. It was all about the fact that he had won a MW belt from Martinez. Golovkin would have eaten him for lunch and Cotto knew it.

Golovkin fought Brook, after Canelo pussed out and gave up his belt. I think it's sad that a WW stepped up and effectively ruined his career facing MW Golovkin. It's even sadder that Canelo wouldn't even fight Golovkin until he saw vulnerability in him with Brook and Jacobs.

then why did Mr " anyone from 154-168 " totally refuse to negotiate on weight with the 153lb superstar.....?

I will wait for you to reply..... " he didn't have to "

                      which is all you got

I will then reply..... wut, so Golovkin will not fight unless "he has to"?..... "we thought he was about that life"?

and, the conversation will deteriorate significantly from there

YOU admit that Cotto was faded, YOU admit that he was the 3rd biggest star in the sport at that point (May/Pac was NEVER going to happen) Golovkin's payday was Cotto, because Canelo may never have fought him..... so why did Golovkin not jump on that fight???

he offered Brook/Rosado a catchweight..... but then totally refused to negotiate on weight with Cotto/Canelo

oh, then AFTER that..... Golovkin publicly stated that he is willing and able to fight at 154, but nobody will step up

come on man, you can't make that shht up

the bold in your post is total bullshht

FACT: Canelo would have beaten Golovkin at 154

FACT: Cotto would have given Golovkin hell, if not beaten him, at 154

                      because of the weight

Mr " anyone from 154-168 " is full-of-****, and so is his faithful fanbase.....

what I know is this..... when Cotto/Canelo have retired, they will not have difficult/impossible questions to answer about their opponent selection, like you do right now about Golovkin's

don't you guys get sick and of making excuses for him?

..... the "because he didn't have to" excuse, is fkn ridiculous..... because he told us that he wanted to

here is why you are fk'd.....

FACT: your guy failed to call Cotto's "bluff"..... just like he failed to call Lara's, Ward's, Canelo's, etc, bluff..... not once did he attempt to live up to that 154-168 bullshht..... once again leaving you to fight his battles, instead of taking care of business himself

FACT: when Golovkin refused to negotiate on weight, he removed himself from the Cotto sweepstakes..... he even took step aside money..... he LITERALLY did everything he could to avoid that fight
