The WBA could have just refused to give him permission to delay his mando or told him he has to fight it next, whether he wins or loses against Loma.

They should honestly be demoted and made irrelevant by the boxing fraternity. WBC, IBF and, to a lesser extent, the WBO have their faults but they at least have some logic to their actions. Take the best qualities of each and you would have a half decent belt.

I know the WBA are, a long with the WBC, one of the most historic belts. But here and now they cant stop doing dumb ****.

They are basically like the IBO, WBU or WBF belts to me.

Were there any other factors involved there that you know of ... not getting permission, whatever?

Im open to being proved wrong here, but I thought Lamont was stripped after the Khan fight. Wasnt it something to do with the drug scandal? Or all the other controversy around the fight? (The 'man in the hat' scandal)

              Edit: From Wiki-

A rematch was due to take place on 19 May.[16] It was later found that Peterson had tested positive for PEDs and was stripped of the WBA title. He admitted to the use of steroids shortly after. Khan was then reinstated as the WBA champion.[17]

That was because Garcia was supposed to be a unification. But they made it above 140.

No he was stripped because he lost to Garcia at 143 lbs.

Despite Saturday’s fight being a non-title bout, the result caused the IBF to strip Peterson of his title.

People explained that Peterson was due for a mandatory defense and had requested an exemption. The three options he gave were two ranked IBF contenders and a unification bout (which wouldn't need an exemption). Peterson was paired with Garcia but once that fight was made above the 140-pound limit, it ceased to become a unification bout.

This Saturday night from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, IBF junior welterweight titlist Lamont Peterson takes on Danny Garcia, who has the WBA and W

He kind of fooled the IBF.
