Plenty of boxers in the lower weight classes surpassed 50-0. Hell, Yory Boy Campas was like 53-0 before fighting Trinidad. The only difference with Floyd is that he retired without officially losing.
I think the issue was whether there have been boxers reported in other nations who have retired 49-0 or more. There are a lot of boxers who never reach super stardom who retire. I bet 90% of the people who post on this forum have never even heard of Menayothin before this post... so are there others out there throughout the years? I can't answer that for certain...

Good for him. He's having himself a nice career.

But let's see if he can retire undefeated which is the big thing. That plus the quality of his opposition.

Mayweather Castillo 1 was an easy fight Castillo won 4 rounds I scored it 115-111 that fight is overrated the HBO commentary and Lederman made people think Castillo won the fight the punch stats are way off Castillo didn't land that many punches

Now he only needs to face a guy whose never professionally boxed before to secure that 50-0! Heck, why not fight 2 guys at this point who never boxed before in their life?! You know you want to top it.

It's not just about staying undefeated, it's about beating the best fighters...people can hate on Floyd all they want but the guy beat all the top fighters of his generation, ...this Japanese guy has 45 nobodies on his record..finito Lopez also has 49-0 and retired undefeated and he's a Mexican idol but I know that he doesn't have Mayweather names on his record to even be compared to floyd...dumb article..

actually hes had far less controversial decisions go his way compared to other all time greats. his are just magnified and exaggerated for obvious reasons

You really are one ****** mother****er if you think Castillo only won 4 rounds in his first fight against Mayweather.
Castillo won that fight but he got robbed. Plain and simple.
