Who was the more proven fighter...

Kovalev no questions about it!
Beating a HOF ATG legend in Hopkins who was on a hot streak schooling fighters younger than him while unifying and then the way he beat him...beats out anything GGG does at this point!
GGG's best thing going for him is barely getting by Daniel Jacobs and getting a gift draw from a 160 debut Canelo who schooled him, but somehow everyone else gives him sympathy cuz he comes forward and takes punches!
GGG trainer talkd that ish about Kov and I was hoping for GGG to chase legacy and move up to 175 and fight Kov!
Of course it will never happen!
Kov chased legacy while GGG chosed money!Comment

No idea where you got your rankings from but both Macklin and Murray were found to be lacking when they ever stepped in with any fighter with even near top-level ability.
All you have to do is look at their records and who they've fought; Macklin and Murray are basically just above Euro-level fighters.Comment

They were both ranked by trans and the THE RING and id bet even espn when they fought GGG.All bottom 3rd but still ranked.Unless you go by Boxrec(which rates canelo pfp #1 and Spence ranked 6th at 47 4 spots below Jeff Horn. And just above Euro Level is World level. No idea where you got your rankings from but both Macklin and Murray were found to be lacking when they ever stepped in with any fighter with even near top-level ability.

I'd would have to go with GGG. Sheer competition he is much better. The names on his resume, although not that good, are better than what Kovalev has. Overall, I think Kovalev is the better, more exciting boxer.Comment

Martin Murray wasn't a world level fighter? He should of had wins over Sturm and Martinez in their home grounds.Pascal and Chilemba had both shown themselves to be world-level operators before stepping in with Kovalev.
Looking through Golovkin's entire run, the only time that he stepped in with a fighter who had already proven to be truly be world level was earnestly the Daniel Geale fight.Comment

Sergio, Cotto, Geale, Quillin, and Golovkin (almost purely on hype) were the top middleweights; once you got passed that top 5, you were arguing about so-so and bull**** fighters.
The current welterweight division is literally almost 10 deep on top flight talent. Thurman, Spence, Garcia, Porter, Kell Brook, seemingly Crawford, Pacquiao is on his way out, Khan when not getting clipped and you can throw Horn in because of his belt. Underneath that, you have Lamont Peterson, Jesse Vargas, Yordenis Ugas, and other solid fighters to look at.Comment
