...or Joshua can fight any other heavyweight in the world except for Wilder and pay them 5% or less! Parker is delusional!! I wonder what Parkers biggest purse is 1mil??

I think he'll ultimately settle at 30%!! Especially since even at 30% he's going to make more than any other option he hasComment

Ummmm... What?
Wilder would jump in a rowboat and paddle his way across the Pond to get that fight. Not sure why you think he isn't serious.
My prediction has been Joshua does this fight and one more with a fellow Brit to bank some cash, Wilder does one more fight in early 2018 with someone decent (Ortiz? Why not?), and they meet late 2018.Last edited by landotter; 11-19-2017, 06:04 PM.Comment

I don't know screaming that he won't settle for less than 50% despite saying "it's not about money I don't care about money". Strikes me as a guy talking about wanting the fight with no follow through.Ummmm... What?

Me too. I think publicly if he says 35 then 30 is the private number he will go with, and even then I think that will be a more than generous payday.Comment

Let the dance continue
Matchroom: here's $4m
Duco: No, we won't take a penny less than 40% of the whole pie.
Matchroom: Not gonna happen. Here's $4.5m plus the Australia rights to the fight.
Duco: Better, but no. How about we just "accept" 35% of everything?
Matchroom: lol, no, AJ owns his show. Here's the deal; $6m plus the Australia rights to the fight. That basically gets you to just over 20% of the expected pot.
Duco: That's closer but still light. Push the package up to 25% of the take and you've got a deal.
Matchroom: Deal. Here's $6m, 1000 tickets from Wembley for your camp to sell, and the rights to the fight for Asia/Oceana.
Duco: pleasure to do business with you.Comment

Parker brings nothing to the table but the WBO belt, yet he's asking for 35% of everything!
Won't have a traveling contingent to the UK, can't really help grow the gate any, can't increase the sponsorships for the live event, etc.
Where's the reasonableness?Comment

I don't think Matchroom offers 30% of everything, which is the cash out that they seem to be aiming for.
Eddie Hearn and Haymon/Finkell will likely quietly come to an agreement for a Joshua-Wilder fight in August (depending on the timing, it might end up being the two fight deal).
Bellew-Haye 2 happens in December, with the likely Pulev-Oquendo fight for January.
If Duco continues to not deal, I earnestly see Hearn moving on, telling Duco to go fight Lucas Browne for $2m-$3m in Australia, and then have to deal with heading to Moscow before they talk again.Comment

Any fight other than Wilder or Parker will be a disappointment - do you think the fans will settle for Joshua fighting a B-grade guy? They absolutely will not. There is pressure on Hearn/Joshua to seal the deal on a top fight, and soon.
Dr Google will help you sort out that wondering issue.Comment
