Joshua does because at least with Parker he can say he's avoiding Wilder to fight the other guy with a belt. Parker is just as desperate because he knows he makes more in a fight with AJ than anyone else. And because he really isn't confident he can hold the belt that long anyway. Better to lose it to AJ for millions that to some guy no one has ever heard of for a couple hundred thousand.

Who knows though, maybe AJ will just pick some bum to fight next and not even acknowledge Wilder or Parker. I just want to see Joshua-Wilder. Every other fight at hw doesn't interest me at all. Who really wants to see Joshua-Parker? Honestly, everyone knows who would win. I get it though, the belt. I guess if/when AJ fights Parker next, whenever he finally agrees to fight Wilder the winner will be to the undisputed champ with all the belts. That'd be kinda cool I guess.
I want to see Joshua/Parker. This fight has been talked about for a long time since they were prospects. Then they came close to fighting last year but both went in different directions, Joshua Fought Wlad and Parker fought Ruiz Jr.

As you say if Joshua fight Parker next, it means when Joshua/Wilder happens it will be for the undisputed heavyweight title. There hasn't been a fight for the undisputed heavyweight title for over 17 years, this is something rare now with so many titles. Joshua/Wilder is the biggest fight that can be made, so it should have the biggest platform, that means it being for the undisputed title.

If Joshua/Wilder happens now, it's just another unification fight, like Joshua/Wlad, Wlad/Haye, Wlad/Ibragimov etc. But a fight for the undisputed title against a hugely popular Brit and an American even a derided and unpopular one could finally see heavyweight boxing once again at the pinnacle of the sport. I could see this fight happening on US PPV in Vegas if the undisputed title is on the line. I don't get why so few want this and just want another unification probably in the UK with no interest from HBO or Showtime.

It makes sense to take the Parker fight first. There's a limit to how big that can be built. Making Wilder the undisputed clash builds the fight and raises the chances of engaging the US casual boxing crowd, should they still exist, and thus unlocking PPV riches galore.

Speaking from this side of the Atlantic on where it should take place, the selfish answer is that it will cost a small fortune to go and watch it, or more likely in my case, take place at 4 in the morning after a woeful undercard has induced catatonia in UK based viewers.

However I'd like to see big time heavyweight boxing return as I grew up on it. So I hope there's a genuine buzz and interest growing in Wilder stateside and that Vegas can put together a compelling case to host Joshua v Wilder.

        For da uso

Parker should fight Dyllan White and Martin first and beat them both then fight Joshua for 50/50.

Parker is barely worth 20%. At this point he is just selling his belt to Joshua.

Parker is terrible, nothing special at all.

Bargain basement price for a low budget champ.
That's right JP, sell it while you can.

Majority decision against Hughie, majority decision against Ruiz, a unanimous decision against Takam, and maybe the Dimentrenko fight are literally Parker's entire slate of decent opponents.

Context is key here. No need to overvalue the man
Wilder obviously - he's the prize. Wlad has already turned down a rematch and retired, Ortiz was suspended for a year by the WBA (AJ has their belt) so that would cause huge sanctioning issues if they even wanted to dare go near a two-time cheat...and Vitali fkn Klitchko? He's been retired for 5 years. Come on Man.

And of course, Haye can't stay healthy.

You say context is key - sure. So is common sense. Use it.

imo its ****** to compare AJ with floyd or manny....

floyd/manny built up their star power over the years fighting great competition

can't say the same for AJ he's still moving up the latter. Hearn just wants to make that latter extra short just in case it breaks under them
