Alvarez is getting «*free money*»
Meanwhile Stevenson is getting older
I still think Adonis wins but the advantage is on Alvarez’s side imo
And no no matter what you say a lot of fighters ducked Stevenson including big bad Kovi
He was the one who pulled out of the purse bid , why was that?
Anyone care to explain

Look, Jean Pascal has no skills, but I can admit he has a tremendous amount of power and stamina on his tongue.
About tomato cans, Jean Pascal is a top quality one. I mean, this guy put so much sauce, he's a pizza delivery guy.Last edited by TheThirdEye; 11-20-2017, 02:30 AM.

But Bute decided to fight Froch as an optional, just out of the super 6. Froch beat Bute. Stevenson tried to setup a fight against Froch, but Froch begged Kessler to fight in a Unification matchup for the IBF & WBA. So Stevenson couldn't have his shot for the IBF belt; (unifications has priority over mandatories). Then, after the Froch Kessler fight, Froch was suppose to vacated the IBF belt, because none of them wanted to fight Stevenson.
Anyhow, Stevenson was listed 3rd in the WBC rankings; while fresh from beating a drained Dawson, Andre Ward was still the WBC 168lbs champ with Anthony Dirrell as mandatory. Ward & the Dirrell brothers claimed they wouldn't fight each other.
However Ward declared a shoulder injury before fighting his mandatory. WBC stripped Andre Ward, Anthony Dirrell (1) was suppose to fight for the vacant title against Sjekloca (2). But Anthony Dirrell had a motocycle accident. Adonis Stevenson (3) was next in line to fight Sjekloca (2) for the vacant WBC title, but Andre Ward pretended his shoulder recovered, so the WBC land him back his belt. Ward was suppose to fight Pavlik for an optional defense, but decided to go on with his shoulder operation.
Stevenson had to wait for a vacant IBF or an on/off WBC held by Ward.
Meanwhile, Chad Dawson was hoping to avenge his loss against Jean Pascal, but Jean Pascal just had a lucrative offer to fight Bute. So promoter Yvon Michel ask Stevenson if he was okay to fight for a vacant IBF title or if he could go up in weight and fight Chad Dawson for the LHW WBC belt with a small purse. Stevenson decided to go up, and blow Darnell Boone right before his shot at Dawson. In the meantime, the WBC stripped Ward from his 168lbs belt, so Bika (4) fought Sjekloca (2) for the vacant WBC strap.
Meanwhile, after Stevenson beaten Dawson "june 2013", he said he wanted to fight Hopkins and Ward, while Ward was a commentator of the fight.
Ward says "76sec" Stevenson didn't have enough names on his resume to fight him. Still in HBO, Stevenson promoter offered Ward a deal to make 2 fights; 1st at 168lbs in Oakland, and the 2nd at 175lbs in Montreal. But Ward-Hunter sounds-off.
Stevenson went to the HBO convention "june 2013", adviser S.Watson was there, Schaefer & Hopkins too.
Knowing Stevenson wanted to fight him, Hopkins condition was for Stevenson to cross to Showtime to make that fight happen. Stevenson kept in touch with adviser S.Watson. And then Kovalev beated Cleverly winning the WBO strap "august 2013", he was not champion before that.
Later "nov 2013", Stevenson fought Bellew in the finals, right after the Kovalev Sillakh fight. Kovalev says he wants Stevenson. But according the fact Stevenson just won his clash against an Eddie Hearn guy "Bellew", because he still could do the SMW weight, also because Froch did everything to avoid him after the Super 6, and mostly because the canadian fans still had "Bute loss against Froch" on their hearts; Stevenson used this moment to say he wanted to fight Froch. HBO didn't understood, but the canadian crowd did.
After that, HBO was offering peanuts for Kovalev vs Stevenson WBO WBC unification, and for warm up fights. Stevenson signed with Haymon, to maximize his revenues & to evaluate Showtime monetary offer. He presented Showtime offer to HBO, to match it, but HBO rejected it. So Stevenson signed with Showtime to add the Hopkins IBF & WBA belts to his collection, for the Undisputed recognition. "BTW the WBO belt was not necessary to become Undisputed".
Kathy Duva made a lawsuit against Adonis Stevenson, Yvon Michel, Al Haymon, Golden Boy, Hopkins, Schaefer, DeLaHoya & Showtime; because she was nearly broke and was counting on that 1.3million with a "rematch clause" HBO was willing to pay for Kovalev Stevenson. At least in that process, HBO decided to sign Kovalev right before the Agnew fight: to avoid loosing him too, to Showtime.
People must know, Stevenson nor Kovalev were sign under HBO at the time. But now that Kovalev locked himself under an HBO contract, he called Stevenson "p*ece-of-****" after he fought Agnew.
Right before the Hopkins Stevenson negotiation, Golden Boy broke relation with Schaefer and Haymon. Golden Boy & Hopkins quickly change boat to HBO, also quickly set a deal to fight Kovalev. The Duva phony lawsuit got drop at the same time: with Hopkins saying how he "check mate" Haymon and Stevenson.
Jean Pascal became mandatory to Stevenson. But Jean Pascal publicly says he wants 60%, Stevenson says calm down, it's 30. Pascal says 50%, Stevenson says I won't compromise, it's 30. Pascal blast off Stevenson in the media calling him Aduckn*s Ch*ckens0n, Superw0m*n, pvss*, tomato cans & taxi driver fighter & many more terms; 90% of Kovalev & followers trash words against Stevenson, started by Jean Pascal mouth; Kovalev only repeats what Pascal was barking, to his own limited trashing vocabulary.
Anyhow, Jean Pascal says 40% and Stevenson says lets wait for the WBC purse bid, knowing the WBC split policies are at 70-30.
So Jean Pascal left his mandatory position by his own and fought Kovalev for 40%. While Stevenson was already making money, it was Kovalev FIRST major paycheck in boxing. He did crumbs with Hopkins.
Kovalev cracked Pascal, pretending to still call out Stevenson with the WBC Diamond belt. Stevenson beat Bika and was ready for the Kovalev Stevenson negociation under the WBC rules of 50% split. But Kathy Duva stayed silent, even if Kovalev was no longer tied to his HBO contract.
So Yvon Michel and the WBC decided to setup a purse bid after 30 days of failed negociation. Kathy Duva claim they wouldn't participate on that purse bid because without HBO's back-up contract they will lose the bid, "like it wouldn't be fair". Okay then! so Yvon Michel and the WBC waited for Kovalev to sign another contract with HBO on May 2015, to setup a second purse bid. And Kathy Duva claims again she wouldn't participate in that second purse bid because it would cause a breach of contract if they would lose that bid, they would be in violation with the HBO exclusive contract terms. "They were just bluffing all along, Duva thought Stevenson would have vacate his title".
Then she starts saying, Stevenson should fought on HBO, out of his PBC agreement.
Even if it was clear, team Duva didn't want to lose any accomplishment Kovalev gain by fighting Hopkins and Pascal; boxing fans were already brainwashed & conditioned by the previous 2 years of constant media trashing against Stevenson. So even if Kovalev ducked Stevenson, followers, haters & trolls still believe Stevenson was & is the one ducking.
It's only a perception...
Like always, Stevenson is chasing the belts, he proposed a 2 networks deal, to fix the network issues, and to maximize the revenues; but Duva rejected the idea. Stevenson attempted to force a LIVE face-to-face against Kovalev on HBO, and Kovalev fled his own interview with Max Kellerman.
Before the Kovalev Ward fight, commentators ask Ward if he's planning to go after Stevenson belt, Ward answered: ( I don't know if Al will let him come out and play).
Well, after Ward controversal win against Kovalev, Stevenson says: (Ward lets do this), Ward says, (Why now? Stevenson lost opportunity to fight Kovalev, me I just change division and I fought Kove. No disrespect to Stevenson, but Stevenson is a step back. He didn't meet etc ect...).
So to our understanding, Ward doesn't want to become Undisputed by only fighting 1 single time against Stevenson. Which doesn't make any sense, because (Undisputed) is the greatest goal in boxing.
See, even if Stevenson represented the greatest reward for B-Hop or Kovalev, and presently Ward. The Stevenson dilemma is really particular. If Stevenson has no title, contenders won't accept to meet him in a ring. Now that he has the Lineal belt, the "Kovalev-Stevenson" saga left the impression Stevenson is an easier path for a contender. However, as soon as another champion has a title to lose, the Stevenson factor becomes way too risky. Since 2013, King Kal-El Stevenson is "All In" for the Undisputed matchup, appearances are deceptive.
