The fact is this long thread about how Canelo really won the fight won't change the mind of a single person who thought GGG won. The people who thought Canelo won will of course agree with you. Maybe the rematch will produce a winner who wins so convincingly that nobody can claim he didn't really win.
I never insinuated that Nelo won the fight, but it's fun to troll slow motionism ala shabu believers, #48ismites.. Three judges made the call. Even if Byrd had it close like 115 or 116 then it doesn't matter it's still a split.

Nobody needs convincing. It was a draw and it was GGG''s worst performance to date.

As Larry said, the rematch will settle everything.

But now they know what they need to do. One can't just be flicking lazy jabs around and miss like an amateur.... the other will decide to "move" as much as the first bout for the sake of perception.

There are a ton of noobs on this site learning how to score fights and if folks want to keep changing how a fight is scored to suit their personal needs and to justify their arguments we are in turn doing a great disservice to the sport PERIOD. A landed punch is a scored point. If you land 70% of your total blows in 4 rounds and the other guy outlands you in all of other 7 to 8 rounds, guess what? You lost.

With that said, the whole "he ran" is nonsense, give Canelo credit as he fought a smart fight and that's coming from someone who expected him to get pancaked on that night. His stamina fkd him up and forced him to move with little to no exchanges for a good chunk of rounds which is where he gave that fight away. His whiskers...i'm a believer in his chin now for sure as well. His head movement is very impressive. His kriptonite is that stamina.

Since when did hard punches on the arms not count as physical damage? Most of Spence''s hard grind work is to break a guy down by smashing guards... of course the hurt is nothing like petruing internal organs, but to a casual viewer smashing arms when guards are up hurts! Therefore to the casual compubox such strikes are landed, doesn't matter if the logic of the sweet science tells you it's not effective..

Besides, sweet science compubox or casual compubox wont help that GGG had his worst performance to date.

Nelo landed the more memorable and elegant shots. Effective aggression means, for a master who closes the ring, to capitalize and score when yoube got the other trapped...

Nelo''s effective performance supersedes the theory that he was running by his more effective compubox alone.

Rematch will end all this talk!

GGG thought as a champ that he should get the benefit of the doubt but yet Canelo is also still the Lineal champion at 160!

GGG offered no real info of why he thought he won!

Atleast Canelo offered reasonable incite by stating he felt he won cuz he had better defense and was more effective!

If Canelo can get his stamina corrected he can end GGG with a combination of body shots!

The real GGG vs Canelo Compubox stats

Those numbers are bogus, same as everything this troll posts.

Here are the real Compubox punch stats for the fight:

Gennady Golovkin was the busier fighter and landed 9 of 30 jabs per round. GGG landed more punches in 10 of 12 rounds. Canelo Alvarez landed 42% of his power shots. GGG landed 32% of his power punches after landing 46% in his previous 13 fights.

GGG outlanded Canelo in 10 out 12 rounds, with one round even.

Punches landed are what win fights, not punches missed or percentages.
