Fight should have went on i dont care what any wilder fan says.
Wilder still wanted to fight Ortiz but the WBC didn't allow it to be for the title.

For *** sake, PEDvetkin has the Russian Mafia behind him so he can never be permanently banned like he should've!

The guy had crap stamina and then all of a sudden at over 33 years old he doesn't gas at all and looks like he can fight a 15 round fight? Lol

Ortiz had crap management who he should fire, that was easily avoidable and it still looks suspect on why they didn't fill out on the med exam papers that he takes high blood pressure medication!

You lot really think PEDvetkin and Ortiz beats Wilder....I gotta New York bridge to sell ya!
that is a bunch of horse s h I t. EVERY boxer from number 30 and up to number one contender is on something. the god damn round girls have fake t i ts a s ses lips etc. foreman had no stamina when young then as a fat guy could easily go 12 rds. 95% of fighters 30 years ago were totally shot by 31 . look how many guys go until almost 40. now guys like Jacobs can make 160 when really a CW and have NO side effects easily going 12 rds after putting on 25 lbs. 30 years ago the guy would have collapsed after 4 rounds cutting that much

They couldn't do it before because Ortiz broke a rule by not disclosing to the testing agency that he was on a certain medication.A medication that is used as a masking agent for PED's.

Stop pretending that Ortiz, a fighter with a history of doping, is an innocent victim in this. If anything he got off lightly with the WBC.

Ortiz "blood pressure" problems will likely disappear if tested again.

It's just an awful decision, maybe they are helping ortiz instead of wilder huh ? They also let Nery go without punishment, it's probably because the situation wasn't clear. Ortiz got busted multiple times tho so he's clearly not innocent.
By the time Wilder was fighting they were still deciding what to do with Ortiz so they wouldn't allow Wilder to fight him on the date. It's as simple as that, nothing to do with protection or anything like that. Why would they even let wilder sign the contract and put their money in the fight if they were protecting him ? Ortiz got caught with a masking agent and is giving the benefit of the doubt in his favour. He does get some punishment tho, he's not allowed to fight for the title, but yeah a bad decision by the wbc.

Whatever it is, one thing's for sure, Wilder will fail the chin test when he faces Anthony Joshua.

They said they wanted to do an investigation to evaluate his health before they would let him fight again for their organization. It's over so he is cleared to fight. Seems your angst is misdirected, it should be at Ortiz's team for not being able to read and disclose what they were taking. Had they done that the fight would of happened. Nobody to blame but themselves. Also if the fight happened and Wilder won we would still have to sit through a garbage Stiverne fight, either that or Ortiz vs Stiverne which is still garbage

I cant remember the Povetkin story but the whole Ortiz thing was a farce. First he supposedly tested positive and even before Ortiz could lodge his appeal, the fight was called off...only for a week after the fight for Ortiz to be proven as innocent.

Couldnt the fight have been postponed a week or 2?

It was a win - win for everyone. Wilder would have got a better opponent, Show would have got a legit challenger to sell the fight and everyone involved gets to set Wilder up as more of a name.

The stiverne fight, so hastily arranged just let everyone down.
