As for JDJ, I thought a few years a go he was going to be the next big trainer where many will join. However after listening to him the pass few months, he doesn't seem to have integrity... and does seem bitter.

If you make weight, you make weight. Those are the current rules so play by them.

As for looking to jump ship to Ward's camp, he was ****ed up by radio raheem when he snitched on himself.

U sound moronic by suggesting JDJ should show some respect.
Then why the fu** did he stick around if he was treated like a **********?? JDJ was on his nuts when the success was there after the losses he started gossiping like a female

Before this incident I had a sort of disinterested respect for John David Jackson. How he almost jumped ship mid-camp, then completely turned on Sergey Kovalev? Those were some low down, dirty tricks. Only a coward would sit silently banking the cash and not making his displeasure known.

Ward did stop Kovalev landing a single good shot and several low blows after that. But according to good ruling he would have been disqualified or at least deducted a point or two. How in the world after that can one say that Kovalev quit? What options did he have providing that he was hurt by several low blows? Should he have continued with ailing balls and finally got waived off by the ref?
Ward should be ashamed of his "stoppage victory". So should also be the ref and the HBO coverers who just "didn't notice" the flagrant low blows.

Looks like Jackson the trainer tried to patronize Kovalev and got put back into his place.

When you're a trainer you take second role to the fighter, not the other way around.

Jackson probably thinks he's still fighting. No you're not. Learn your place or get the F out of this business.

First thing to do once you are in US as a foreign athlete.

1: Learn language that everyone speaks in that country...work on yourselve, get used to mentality.

and only then you could train. instead he thought EVERYONE will do EVERYTHING for him.

in this case, if most people couldnt see that Jackson wasnt a good coach for him - well I noticed right away. I can only blame Sergey for picking his team and corner.

He ****ing quit. thats a nono to me..either you a russian, american or ***ish Dmitry Salita lol ) low blows or not - if you aint ready for the fight and you lose. take it as it is - and don't ***** like a clown.

JDJ did what he was there for - destroyed Sergey's career and betrayed him. i highly doubt Sergey will do any good ever again

JDJ is a disgrace. Who is gonna like or want a trainer who has no loyalty or respect for his own athletes?

Makes you wonder how he trained Kovalev and what he said to him leading up to the second fight when he was trying to jump ship.

February 7, 2017 (Before the rematch):

"I already see the ****ery starting already this year. Kovalev is blaming his loss to Andre Ward on John David Jackson. My problem is this, guys like that always say, 'I'm going to bring in somebody to help out.' Who can help the best trainer in boxing? Nobody," stated former world champion Nate Campbell, who shared his thoughts on an interview where former light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev slammed American trainers and expressed his desire to add a Russian trainer to his team. Check out what else Campbell had to say and how he thinks it will impact Kovalev's American trainer, John David Jackson.

If you really want to be honest, John David is the best trainer in boxing. I'll say that because he's led more guys to world titles since 2008 than any other trainer out there. Do the math! I'm speaking on facts. And in most cases, he did it with guys that were brought in to lose. And you telling me you're bringing in another trainer to help him train because American trainers don't train like Russian trainers? Why didn't you keep the American trainer? You know why? Because you want to pay the American trainer less and pay the Russian trainer nothing because you can to keep more money for yourself, and that's okay, but don't make it be about the trainer...

But you lost because Andre Ward was the better athlete. John can't train you how to be an athlete. John can train me because John can teach me everything he knows because I'm athletic enough to pull it off. Kovalev is not an athlete. He's stiff, just like every other European fighter; all he got is power.
