Every Fighter You Said Would Beat Floyd.... .

I don't post much these days but it does amaze me that people are still doubting, scrutinizing, and hating on Mayweather.

I don't understand why you can't simply give the guy credit as the best of this era, 50-0. The fact of the matter is every fighter you claimed would beat him got dominated when they stepped in the ring with Floyd. So many of you claim you know boxing, you say you understand there are levels to this game, yet you still denied and played down Floyd's abilities.

Fact is you should of realized by 1998 there was no other active fighter on his level. No fighter in his era has ever come close to matching his skill and talent yet for 20 years you bet against him, told casuals he'd lose to what we now know to be lesser fighters and even today you still posting nonsense.

You watched an entire career, watched a guy make history, and even then you still dont know **** about boxing!

    Pity

Some people can’t see greatness when it’s staring right at them, day after day year after year. I wasn’t a big Mayweather fan until the De La Hoya and Hatton fights which made me a huge fan. I get that people don’t like him but to deny 20 years of greatness and dominance is just absurd. Not to mention his skill set and boxing IQ. I doubt we will see anyone who even comes close for another 20-30 years. The dude fought 30 plus top level fighters and dominated all of them (he dominated JLC & Maidana) in the rematches. Thats a record/achievement that will probably never be equalled or beaten because we will never see anyone that smart and skilful again. Not for a very long time anyway. These childish butthurt fanboys need to get over the fact that he whooped all their favourite fighters and give him the credit he deserves as one of the absolute GOATS.

When he dominated Genaro Hernandez and then Diego Corales it was obvious back then. Dude was p4p #1 for nearly 15 years straight

Exactly and if Shane “My tooth hurts and I need a vacation” Mosley hadnt ducked him in 1999 Floyd could’ve been p4p#1 even earlier. Skill wise I consider him the greatest boxer of all time. Now if we’re talking legacy and resumes/guys with 200 fights that’s a totally different argument. When it comes to skills and ring IQ I can’t think of anyone who was better/more complete. A lot of people hate him now because they’re jealous but I think in 5-10 years when boxing isn’t nearly as interesting and there’s no clear #1 guy he will be viewed a lot more favourably. Ali had tons of haters and they all ended up on his nuts soon after he retired. Expect the exact same thing to happen with Mayweather.

Oh they are free to hate but you hope to see a sign that they actually know something about boxing. They say they can spot raw talent but can't see what's been standing in front of them for 20 years....for those of you like myself who realized early that Floyd was the guy of this era was there ever any doubt he wouldn't beat Shane, Cotto, Oscar, Pac, Hatton, etc....to me it wasn't even possible he could lose to them yet all these people who claim they know boxing argued relentlessly otherwise for years!

                In before
                • Paul Williams would have beat him (got sparked by Sergio Martinez)
                • Castillo beat him (close fight that could have gone either way)
                • He ducked Hamed (called Hamed out, Manny Steward refused the fight, documented)
                • Paul Spadafora would have beat him (debatable, since he went the distance with Angel Manfredy, a guy both Corrales and Floyd stopped)
                • Margacheato would have beat him (with plaster wraps, probably)
                • He ducked Manny in 2009 (despite Roach being on record as saying Manny ducked the fight due to the drug testing)
                • Manny won the fight (despite Roach being on record as saying Manny lost)
                • Maidana won the first fight/Kenny Bayless helped Floyd the second fight (despite the fact that both fights, Maidana got dominated the second half)
                • He sucker punched Ortiz (ignore that Ortiz intentionally head butted in the corner)

Just getting it out the way.

Clearly the best of his era and that's the best you can be. Everything else is opinion.

Exactly. It's impossible to know who the greatest of all time is because fighters of the past fought under different criteria. Floyd proved himself to be the best of his era and that is all e could realistically prove. He is the most accomplished fighter of the past 20 years. He has the longest win streak, the best title fight record at 26-0, and is the only fighter to become champion in 5 weight classes without suffering a single loss in the sport's history.

When you compare Floyd's accomplishments in boxing they hold up with some of the greatest fighters of all time. I don't think it's that people fail to see Floyd's greatness I think it is more that they refuse to recognize his greatness because of their personal bias' against him.
