Mr. Porter is right, Porter doesn't need to fight anyone else! However, I would love to see him fight someone else. That someone else is Jermell Charlo @ 154! Face it, the Thurman fight is at least 2 fights away; a tune-up, then either Spence Jr., or Terence Crawford! Both of those fights are far superior to a rematch with "Showtime." Why not fight a title fight with Charlo? That would be a great PPV undercard for Spence Jr. vs. Thurman! Charlo vs. Porter @ 154! Make it happen!

So they are putting themselves on the shelf? One of the things that keep Porter going is his activity level. He needs to keep on getting busy by fighting and then see where he is at, no point waiting for a specific dance partner.

He clearly beat Granados, but having someone bring the fight to him threw Shawn off mentally. You can tell that by how Kenny is acting right now talking about "we shouldn't have to go through that". He knows that people would tell him to fight Spence, and that would be a fight where he can't play football and bully like he does to smaller WWs. So sitting out and nursing that Mando status is the strategic move here. The downside that I see is that Porter isn't really a big enough name that people will care if he sits out or not. I haven't met a person yet whose enjoyed a majority of porter fights.
