Why Al Haymon couldn't sign better prospects from ex-Soviet bloc? Why amazing talents like Yeleussinov stays in amateurs because they can't get good offers from promoters and instead of seeing them in pros, we're forced to watch guys who's supposed to be "the real deal" like Lipinets but struggling with B class fighters?
After watching Lipinets I ask myself a question....

Because he was brought in to enhance his other talents rather than really be a product on his own.Why Al Haymon couldn't sign better prospects from ex-Soviet bloc? In essence he was the guy brought into be the Brooklyn Brawler, although that is a harsh wrestling example because I think they would want Lipinets to have some success before they feed them to guys that actually matter for them.
Not like most Americans could pick Eastern European fighters out of a line-up so one with a relatively flashy record will serve just as well as a better one since he was never meant to be focused on anyway.Comment

I think some of those fighters have trust issues and want to stay close to home.
Look at how the kovalev-jackson relationship turned out. I mean that's a trainer yes, but the same comfort level can be applied.Comment

I'd say fighters from ex-Soviet bloc are more used to fighting overseas and dealing with foreign trainers and promoters than boxers from States, so it shouldn't be a problem. I've heard Beterbiev's team wanted to sign with Haymon even before they got that offer.
Kovalev/Jackson is just one example and I guess it doesn't have nothing to do with their nationalities, they just couldn't get alongComment
