Stiverne wasn't dehydrated. He wouldn't have taken all that punishment. He created his own lie. He was severely concussed.
Stiverne's Trainer: Doctor Told Me Stiverne's Dehydration Level Was Close To Death!

His "dehydration level was close to death", much closer to death level than to normal level. There is a chance that if he hadn't gone to hospital that night he could have died of dehydration if he hadn't been properly hydrated with water instead of the dehydrating energy drinks he was habitually consuming. If he'd just gone home and tried to see how he felt in the morning, the situation could have deteriorated very rapidly because he would have probably been drinking energy drinks and soda.Comment

Did he always not drink water and a lot of energy drinks for his other 25+ fights or did this just conveniently occurr for the Wilder fight? I only ask because if it was something he did regularly it would have surely been an issue way before Wilder... and corrected. If this was the first time it would be very strange after all those fights he would change his energy drinking habits to the point he is feeling severely dehydrated and approaching near death levels.Comment

In March 2017 a British Muay Thai fighter, Jordan Coe, died of dehydration after a random training session. Imagine if you're in a pro boxing match at the higher levels of the sport, you're severely dehydrated, and fighting a monster puncher like Wilder too, it's certainly plausible that you could reach near fatal levels of dehydration.Comment

yeah, ive never heard something so ridiculous in my life. a man in his 30s with many years of boxing experience doesnt think to drink water when hes thirsty. And conveniently the one time hes seriously dehydrated (near death in fact) is the one time hes in there with a world level opponent, funny that.Comment

He said back in 2016 that he never liked drinking water but he did have a nutrionist for the Arreola world title fight, and that nutritionist must have encouraged him to drink water. For the Wilder camp, his first title defence, he said he (inexplicably) dropped his nutritionist completely because he thought he knew enough about nutrition but he totally overlooked the water aspect and just drank mainly energy drinks.Comment
