Conor McGregor's next goal is to build a financial empire and eclipse Real Madrid football icon Cristiano Ronaldo to become the highest-paid athlete in the world. The 29-year-old UFC lightweight champion told Reuters of his ambition to top the Forbes 100 list of the world's highest-paid athletes through a combination of new business ventures such as tailored suits and "Notorious" brand whiskey plus fight purses, pay-per-view and sponsorship revenue.

A fight with Tony Ferguson doesn't get him there

If that's really the aim for 2018, he fights Nate Diaz in the trilogy (with or without the belt, at 155lbs), boxes Paulie Malignaggi (the promotional stuff will square away, but you're basically looking at a 85/15 McGregor split on that fight), and then closing out the year with against the Khabib/Ferguson winner.

Depending on how things go, you're likely talking about $100m-$120m for those three fights.

        Conor in Dream Land

Good luck with that man, you need it. You have Nate Diaz problems with Khabib/Ferguson winner, breathing on your neck. For now, welcome to Bobby World and Alice Wonder Land. Begin with your fight in the Octagon and fight, don't talk more fúcking sh¡t bag

I remember when fighters cared about being the best fighter in the world, they the knew the money would come.

Nowadays, McGregor and a lot of modern "prizefighters" are just glorified **********s.

They would sell their ass if if made more money than fighting.

Conor has a list of contenders he could beat and build his legacy on, yet he's too busy fighting with Paulie on Twitter. Now he's saying he won't go back to the UFC unless he gets part ownership or some BS.

It could very well be 3 L's in a row. He'd literally be the richest loser of all time.
