Floyd's tax accountant needs to plan to cover that McGregor fight tax bill when it comes due, but the man is still going to be sitting on $400m locked up in investments, with his invested capital easily kicking $30m to $40m to him as his residual on his investments to live on (in a world where Floyd already owns everything that he regularly uses anyway, with the only real expenses being his travel and shopping, with appearances cutting that bill down too).

Floyd is going to be fine (compare that to a guy with eyes on self-financing a presidential run, with a massive tax debt already over his head, without many free cash investments to point to, who may not be so lucky)
a man of that stature like you say wouldnt have to come back to fight and ask the irs for an extension to pay his back due taxes...// thread

If you honestly think that Floyd didn't have the assets to pay, you're an idiot.

And yes, Floyd did come back to fight... FOR SOMETHING LIKE $300 million!

Floyd has his money put away; be it annuities, different properties, or his businesses. All Floyd is doing at this point is living off of his residuals and whatever he can get on his appearances, a nut that's likely well more than $20m a year at this point.

Floyd fought in August, used some of the McGregor money to buy a Beverly hills home, and has basically been chilling since (hit his gym every so often, hang at his gentleman's club, make the appearance at the occasional event).

The US PPV number was over 4.6 million homes (assuming 50% covers the cable operators/Showtime, you're still talking about $250m coming from the PPV), the official gate was over $55m (not counting any resold tickets), and the international TV (if you believe Dana White) brought in another 2m+ PPV homes (at all of the assorted price points, with all of the pieces going wherever, you're easily talking about another $40m).

You count all of the other revenue streams that went into the fight and you likely end up with Mayweather Promotions and Zuffa Boxing/McGregor Sports Entertainment splitting up $400m-$450m easily.

$300m to Mayweather Promotions, $100m to Zuffa, with revenue still left to be split up, and it's blatantly obvious that Floyd didn't come out a pauper on the fight. If the actual number was $285m, who gives a ****.
