I love spadafora.

Spadafora had no power, no speed, no real physical attritubes.

Except that fcker loved boxing amd when he wasn't drinking and shooting hoes, he was boxing, it's all he did. You'll never see such an unathletic fighter accomplish what he did.

He did it by studying boxing and living in the gym. That dude was technically brilliant. He was a genius at using different angles and constantly changing up his attack, making it hard to hit him by turning fighters left and right non-stop.

Don't sleep on spadafora.

I agree Paul Spaddy was a good top 10 lightweight(you could make case for bottom top 5 maybe)And he was very good with his feet and was a good tech but I think using "brilliant" to describe Paul in any part of boxing is a little much.

There isn't one boxer with as little athletic ability that made it as far in this sport as he did. He did it purely with technique. he was never faster, powerful, or stronger, than anyone.

Your posts about Spadi made my day. Only a true devotee of the sweet science can recognize the tradition of the Pittsburgh school of boxing. Like, no no don't take your shirt off, its ok, but when the bell rings, we had the technical brilliance of the likes of Charlie Burley, Billy Conn, and so many other guys... Technical giants, flawless. And truly Spadi was part of that tradition.

When I see guys like Spadi, Dimitri Pirog, it shows what technical skills can do for the sport and for the man. Great posts great posts
