My initial thoughts were a bullsh#t stoppage by the referee. But in hindsight, Anthony Joshua didn't have a mark on him besides damage from the intentional headbutt. He was getting his second winding and beginning to tee off on Carlos Takam. Takam was also badly busted up and had taken an accumulation of heavy shots throughout. You find that the AJ haters are the most vocal about the "bad stoppage". Unless Takam went out in a bodybag they'd find reasons to criticize the Heavyweight King. The referee showed some compassion and saved Takam from an embarrassing/concussive ending.

True. The stoppage may have been a bit premature but the end result was a foregone conclusion. No need for Takam to take any further punishment.

No it wasn't dude, stop! McWelfare was getting blitzed. Emile Griffith killed Benny Paret with 20 punches dude, so yea, definitely possible.
