Spot on post. Unfortunately this is the kind of scenario that killed boxing.

It's nothing to do with earning it's about giving the fans the fight they want to see something that was lost after the 1990's

This sport has gone to hell. Simple as that.
If the sport had real structure then tournaments would be organized like the middle weight tourney that was had, and it would be mandatory for any organization that had a legit champion to enter said champion. It could go to purse bid... and we would get things rolling for the heavyweights.

Oh well we can wait til both guys are slow and past it and argue over who would have prevailed I suppose...winner could open up a strip club!

They should give out strip clubs instead of belts

Its not a big difference at all OP is a well known racist. Ok if Wilder is one of the top heavyweights so is Parker, Ortiz, Whyte etc my point (which I keep going back to) is that Wilder has not done anything to show he is ahead of these other guys. Wilder has struggled with some pretty averagw opposition and the only fighter that both Wilder and AJ fought was taken care by AJ far easier. If you look at quality of opposition Wilder has done nothing to warrent any demands to be the next guy to fight AJ. As a boxing fan I genuinly dont see where all the hype for Wilder is coming from which is why I want him to show me something to make me actually believe he is a genuine threat to AJ

Tell us more about how you used to say floyd didn’t have to fight Margarito because he wasn’t known enough even though Margarito was WBO champion. You said Margarito had to earn his shot. He was champion at 147 from 2002 to 2007.

Since one is a paper champ with zero drawing power and no serious defenses of his title.
