The bottom line is that Toney brings a bigger audience to the table, and that = more revenue. That's business 101

Toney drew with Rahman, and can make 1.5 Million in a tune up.

Just like everyone had their panties in a bunch about the initial (unsubstantiated report), this is a counter offer.

    It's how fights are made.

Anyone who looks at either of these 1st two reports and speaks like they know what's truly going on is outright laughable.

The fight is in discussions, and there's nothing but **** being trown over rumors and heresay.
did you watch the toney rahman fight? it was clear rahman won the fight and toney looked awful. therefore his marketablity is way down. he's lucky to even be getting another title shot. and toney is not a bigger draw than wlad at heavyweight. anyone who thinks 1.5 million is too low is on cloud nine

It's obvious Wladimir Bitchsko is scared of James Toney. A mere million stands in the way, and Toney-Wlad would easily sell out the Garden and is PPV worthy.

Do you know the kind of money we're talking about here?

      Wlad is SCARED

The only thing Wlad is scared of, is accidentally stepping on Toney in a presser and making what would seem the largest greasy slip and slide a boxing podium has ever seen.

            2.5 million!!

Wlad Klit is so scared that a reasonable counter offer like that is non-negotiable and they're walking. It's a shame that Wladimir is that scared of a man half his size. I was looking forward to James putting the LIGHTS OUT on Wlad.
where did u read this? Its funny cause I didint see it anywhere?

Do you even bother to read? Or do you just skim and pick up enough to upset yourself?

Why would you quote my post and not respond to anything said in it?

Toney is a bigger draw than Brock, or other options Wlad has for his next figtt. Thus, 60% agaisnt Toney is bigger than 80% agaisnt Brock. Get it?

                1.5 Million is low.

But the point I made is that both the offer and the counter offer have come from unsubstantiated reports.

Everyone needs to stop crying until some concrete info comes out. All we know right now is that the fight is in discussions, which is positive in itself.

I'll be honest with everyone, I am a huge fan of James Toney. That being said, I hope this fight never happens. James Toney cannot compete with Wladimir Klitschko. In his only other scheduled fight with a giant of a man, I picked Toney to dismantle Jameel McCline because of McCline's non use of the left jab. But Wladimir's style is such that a smaller man without a big punch cannot hang with him for long. I'm serious, a fight with Toney would look like the 2 Chris Byrd fights. This fight is simply a mismatch.

Toney is definately the biggest draw in the HW division, just look at the numbers any thread with his name on it does on boxingscene!

yes,,,he is a bigger draw then those guys,,,but I still disagree on 1.5 million being too low. he's coming off a very poor showing with rahman in which he was very lucky to get a draw. his credibility is much lower now becuase of that,,,so even getting a title shot again is a bonus for him. I do agree with your last quote in that we all dont know exactly whats going on behind the scenes so we should all chill a bit and see what happens,,,this includes myself of course
