Lol. Knowing Arum... probably lying about Purses to Vargas anyways. More extensions by Top Rank wanted...

Impossible to determine whether or not Vargas was justified without knowing the offer. He made decent money versus Bradley and Pac and if he managed properly, then he can afford to be selective until he feels he can rebuild his career with a few decent wins. Fighting Cotto is a big risk. If he takes a third loss it drops his stock considerably. Vargas is not a guy who will ever make $10M a fight. So he has to manage his earnings accordingly. For every million dollars a fighter earns, he is lucky if he keeps $300K of that after manager, trainer, cut man, taxes and other expenses. I'm curious what Ali was offered for the fight.

Good move Vargas to stay away from Golden Boy. Him and Arum are robbing their fighters. Great move by going with Haymon and PBC. They take care of their fighters, you made a great move
