So we're jeopardizing everyone to "expand business to the country"? That's some horse****.

If they have to have one final there makes sense it's the cruisers. I imagine it's going to be an all English final so makes sense to have that one in the U.K.

... Arum didn't make it... Hearn didn't make it...

          Schaefer and Sauerland made it...

"I am sure that Saudi Arabia will lay on a fitting finale to the first year of the WBSS"

Just re read the article and going by that quotation it looks as though they'll be doing more of these WBSS, this is what boxing has needed, investment backing to actually make the fights we genuinely want to see, why DeGale and Zurdo rejected the opportunity to get involved really detracts from the SM's tournament.

... the article is about the cruiserweight tournament (which included very good fighters from the Americas)...

... Zurdo just came back after an injury... and I remember that DeGale already lost vs Groves...

If I'm one of those boxers involved I'd try and make sure I get paid in advance. There's more than one story of a boxer going to the middle east and not getting paid.

Maybe Lara should fight on the undercard, the fear of a ********* attack would at least give his fights some drama at last.

I believe the boxers money has already been guaranteed by the sponsors so the backend money is all about the promoters, investors & sponsors probably so if anyone needs to be careful with these mfers it'll be those guys.

I wouldn't be surprised if the venue gets changed late cuz things aren't looking good. That tends to happen a high percentage of the time with these middle east big fights that get talked about anyway. Pretty sure every notable fighter of the last decade has been lined up towards a middle east fight at some point but very few of them come thru.
