    Absolutely spot on!

Unifications almost always trump mandatories. I don't think Beltran will take any risky fights now. If Flanagan takes a unification fight and wins, he still has to face Beltran. Raymundo is going to wait him out.

No, but Haymon will let Figueroa fight on a TR card.

Beltran fights at 135 while Figueroa usually fights at 140 even though his last fight was at 147.
Beltran can fight @ 140, and he seems like the type who would do it for the right price! Didn't his manager just brag how Flanagan has never faced a guy as "big" as Beltran?

Beltran is a warrior with a great backstory..what's not to like?

if you wanna be honest any fighter would go up 1, 2 or even 3 weight divisions for the right amount of money. I know I would and I'm sure you would too.

If the money is right and there's no options on Figueroa, he would. Haymon allowed Jacobs, Khan and Chavez Jr. take fights with GB and K2 on HBO. We don't hear anything about Haymon asking other fighters from other promotions to sign over options to DiBella or Schaffer to make a fights.

Flanagan’s bum tour is over. He either is gonna unify with Linares which is good or have to defend against Beltran. Either way he has no where to run and no where to hide or he can run but everyone will know if he’s furreal or if he’s a fraud. Only time will tell.

I like the Beltran fight. These fighters have to satisfy mandatories otherwise it must just becomes a battle of who has the biggest t.v. deal, who has the best promoter, or who fills arenas. It's not really true competition.

I can get why Beltran's promoter is annoyed. There is a bit of entitlement here from Terry regarding the Linares option.

I know this is nothing new but now you can have fighters not fight a mandatory for a few years. It can't be right. But then again these organisations give us mandatories like an inactive Stiverne so for the system to work the sport is at their beck and call, who are in turn the organisations themselves are at the beck and call of any big name champion who can make a lot of money.
