ward fighting beterbiev wouldnt be much different than ward fighting kovalev...just a bunch of whining and crying from the usual suspects about how it was in the usa and unfair or whatever.....but ward would neutralize him
face it guys...theres no money in that fight for ward....ward is coming off back to back career high paydays...him taking less money after those would be a letdown and not something he can get up for....at 33, after a lifetime in the sport, he cant find it in him to keep pushing and training
ward is retiring from boxing...not the old cliche that goes the other way around...good for him...no matter how much you achieve or accomplish there will always be some younger, less proven, guys looking to attach your name to them...its a never ending cycle
if this were a different fighter....calling out a different fighter...wed hear the same guys "oh man what has he done or accomplished to deserve a fight with that guy...." or whatever other garbage they could come up with...but its artur and ward...so of course ward is "scared" lolol...same ole song and dance with u herbsComment

Well if you consider the fact that he whooped Kov in the ammies, and now Kov has already been a unified champion and been through his "rise and fall", whilst Bieterbiev still hasn't even "started" his career. I'd say that's slow progress. I think he had promoter or visa issues or something, but still. How? He's 11 fights in... I hate the whole boxers fighting bums for 20 fights but he was ready to fight ward on his 12 fight. No reason to say his career been going too slow when errol spence finally got a belt 20 something fights in like most boxers do when they finally step up in competition.Comment

I like Ward, he's super skilled at what he does even though it's not very telegenic at times, let's be honest about that. No man has been good enough to beat him in a ring, but his two wins over Kovalev were hardly memorable. I can't help feeling disappointed that he didn't want to square off against Stevenson and Beterbiev. I mean, why not? Still, I have enormous respect for him in my own way. Happy retirement to him. That's not the way it appears to me. What appeared to me was the Fact he was Olympic champ/SM Champ/ then stepped up to fight the bogeyman of the LH division and won a close debatable decision then stopped him in the rematch. And then retired to enjoy the rest of his life without god willing any health problems.Comment

I never wanted him to retire either but it's his decision.
The second fight was very memorable for me. That right hand right on the button was a class. **** knows how Kov never went down with that punch. Respect.Comment
