yeah, ward was never going to fight beterbiev. he was more interested in the likes of frank buglioni. when that fight couldnt get made he decided to retire.

Ward ducked Beterbiev, as everyone predicted he would. His team always cherry picked specific styles and ducked the rest. Ward never faced anyone with elite speed, and Ward never faced anyone with knockout power who could fight inside. They avoided those two styles like the plague. As for southpaws with speed and power like Bute or Stevenson, forget about it, you probably couldn't even mention them in front of Ward's team or they might ask for a restraining order. Real boxing fans see through the hype and the spin and they can see this.

He waited until Ward was officially retired and now comes out with this.

He should fight Barerra first to see where he is really at.

That's not the way it appears to me. What appeared to me was the Fact he was Olympic champ/SM Champ/ then stepped up to fight the bogeyman of the LH division and won a close debatable decision then stopped him in the rematch. And then retired to enjoy the rest of his life without god willing any health problems.

Beterbiev is pretty nasty inside. Ward's bread and butter is slipping in headbutts and low blows and that requires a degree of closeness. It would be a tough fight for Ward. We've seen that Ward is basically nothing without his fouling.

He tried but Barrera wasn't interested (not enough money for that work apparently).

Agreed with previous posters that Beterbiev and Bivol are the two to watch at 175 and are set to dominate the division, possibly also Gvozdyk if he overcomes the lingering su****ions over durability of his chin.

If you are talking about the Jeff Page Jr fight, better watch the replay. Beterbiev simply lost his balance and was in no way hurt, in fact he put Page down 3 times in the very next round before the referee stopped the fight.

Another desperate failed attempt to marginalize Wards accomplishments and skill set.

                    PATHETIC !
