Dibella isn't even a real promoter anymore. He just organizes the shows Haymon tells him to, he barely even promotes them though, he doesn't have any big named fighters anymore.

Seriously, dibella is basically a nobody in the sport now.

Al must have traumatized this immigrant in some way.

Only a fool thinks DiBella is a nobody in boxing.

Hearn will soon get out of the US business side as soon as he finds out there's not much money to be made.

If he gets run out of the US business it's because his fighters are getting whipped.

If I'd trust any promoter to know what fans want it'd be Hearn, private school graduated or not.

F#cking DiBella, who I am a fan of and think of as a solid enough promoter in his own right, was trying to act like Wilder vs Ortiz was the craziest gotdamn risk taking fight to make ever just a few weeks ago.

That seemed kinda out of touch to me cuz most fans have been anxious for Wilder to fight anyone notable since the Bermane I fight.
The wallets are likely different, but DiBella and Hearn are basically the same guy, with DiBella having beyond deep roots in NYC/Northeast and Hearn having beyond deep roots in London/UK.

Both guys are top-level operators who can execute the running of a top-level show, but the differences in markets will be known pretty quickly, imo.

Eddie Hearn is too shrewd an operator to lose a ****load of money

He was able to leverage the Jacob's signing immediately into a longterm deal that should cover whatever he signed Jacobs for.

Hearn likely works out a deal with Banner Promotions to get "Big Baby" Miller (I doubt that Star Boxing goes for any deal for Chris Algieri or Joe Smith Jr), and likely stops there, with Anthony Joshua having at least one fight a year in the US.

Keeps things to 4-5 US shows a year, with all the shows paid for with US TV, and you work from there.

Hearn isn't building any fighters from the root in the US (the place where most initial money is lost anyway).
