Joe Rogan Should Do Boxing Commentary

Amazing commentator who never talks down a fighter, but points out any flaws during the fight in a constructive way. Blends his own brand of humour with his technical insight on MMA. He also knows a bit about boxing as heard on his brilliant podcast. He's better than Lampley, Merchant, Kellerman and Stephen A. Only commentator in boxing that comes close is Al Bernstein. Please leave a comment on his youtube channel so he knows he's wanted in boxing.

If you followed MMA since pride days you'll know Joe Hogan is delusional. Guy can't come back from some of the ******ed **** he says.

He'd be an ok commentator in MMA but not in boxing because he doesn't know that much about it. Boxing isn't an easy sport to call or commentate, what we have now is the product of 120+ years of evolution of the sport and you don't learn enough stuff about the history, politics and technicalities of the sport overnight especially if u never boxed before. It's very hard to also see and call punches in a high contact sport like boxing especially at the lower weight classes and it takes years to master that.

What's hurting boxing right now is the lack of appreciation of the technical aspects of the game and the increased focus on blood and drama, which doesn't get delivered in every fight and that's why casual fans stop watchimg the sport, these commentators hype up fights to be bloodbathes before they happen but when casuals tune in and the fight is a technical one, these fans feel cheated and turn away from the sport, what we need is positive commentators that KNOW+ can EXPLAIN what's happening in the ring. Blood and Drama are nice to haves in boxing, not musts, boxing is a SPORT at the end of the day, not theater. The goal is to WIN to get to the next level to feed yourself and your family, not to just give a show.

He will be better than Mauro Ranallo.

          Then again, everybody is.

While I agree he's very knowledgeable about MMA and always praises the fighters and never talks them down, I don't think he would be a good fit for boxing. Better than Lampley, Stephen A etc? Of course but those guys are dreadful and shouldn't be able to even speak on this sport at this point. Joe's a much bigger MMA fan and doesn't appreciate boxing like a true fan would. Just look at the comments he made about Mayweather-McGregor. He was saying stuff like "Conor has beat a lot of tougher guys than Floyd" and "Conor just has to land one big punch" among other idiocy. Obviously he's smart but not when it comes to the sport of boxing.

I do enjoy his podcasts but I wouldn't want him involved with boxing.

He overdoes talking up the UKC fighters. Every good fighter they have becomes the best PFP fighter on the planet as if great boxers, kick boxers and Thai boxers don't even count. The guy has to yell HERE WE GO at the start of EVERY big fight and then yell IT IS ALL OVER at EVERY KO. That gets old an annoying to me and he has been doing that for at least ten years. He gushes over mighty mouse and a few others to the point of being sickening. Yeah, they are good fighters but he turns them into gods or supermen when they aren't.

Rogan is indeed all that and more...his bald head is also perfectly shaped... Seriously he is wicked smart, creative, a real thinker and he has this quality of never being patronizing. His commentary is grade A as well. I agree with you OP! I also like his cast of characters, Diaz cheers me up when I am at my worse...he so reminds me of guys I grew up with, I grew up just across the river from Diaz in East Harlem and i actually lived in Union City! where he hails from...little Cuba also know as junion City. Thats a joke only New Yorkers who have spoken to Puerto Ricans would get.

                    Rogan is fantastic.
