The USADA & VADA both have contact info that anyone can inquire via. I'm sure a professional athlete could get more serious & higher up contact info with little effort.

Apparently the medications ortiz was taking wouldn't show up on the banned list cuz drug manufacturers use different names...but either way, it should be a no brainer to list any medication you're taking regardless.
I don't know how reasonable or unreasonable it is to list all the generic drugs so idk if this is THAT much of an issue or not, but I wouldn't disagree its an issue. I think this would still have been avoidable if they would have vetted this medicine cuz surely someone would have likely connected the dots that its a generic version of a banned substance.

If no one did then I think that would have looked much better in Ortiz's case & I think they'd have a much better argument than they do now.

Definitely their **** up. But now that everyone knows, i don't know why they can't work around it...i mean the test are either gonna support that or they're not. According to conte they do, and also other athletes in different sports have been given a pass for the same type of meds.
The problem is always going to be the timeline. My assumption on the previous cases Conte mentioned is they weren't resolved quickly & they likely took months to resolve & arbitrate. This fight is a month away. Hell I bet they couldn't even schedule a meeting to resolve & arbitrate this more deeply + favorable for Ortiz before the fight date had passed. Once you get into red tape territory thats often the problem.

I have no idea, the fight sucks. WBC really helping Stiverne. There were a few fighters who took the same **** Ortiz took and they got a no fault. Everyone thinks WBC is protecting Wilder but they're prolly just helping Stiverne. How is he even a mandatory?

He was the WBC heavyweight champion of the world. He lost his title by decision in a mandatory defense and dropped in the ratings accordingly.

His promoter chose to be very careful and very patient and slowly but surely Stiverne creeped up in the rankings as fighters in front of him lost or chose to fight for the titles of other organizations.

When it came time for Povetkin to face someone in a final eliminator to create the next mandatory challenger, Stiverne was the next highest available contender.

Due to Povetkin failing ANOTHER drug test, Stiverne became the mandatory as Wilder had yet to make a mandatory defense and it was long overdue.

So essentially, Stiverne became mandatory by being the former champion and everybody ranked in front of him after he lost going on to lose, fight for other titles, or fail a drug test.

You have to give credit to Don King for waiting things out to ensure he got one more (final?) shot at the world heavyweight championship.

              Who's he supposed to fight?

People are finally understanding of Wilder's dilemma!

Whyte? A fighter who has cheated in the past too?

At this point, why should Wilder take another chance!

It sucks cuz he seemed like he really was excited to fight Ortiz and prove who was the baddest heavyweight right now but, Juiz Ortiz had to muck it ALL up!

Maybe Wilder should drop to cruiserweight cuz I have a feeling Joshua might be on something and would be bonkers he get popped if/when they fight!

Wouldn't be surprised if Wilder quits boxing over frustration!

I don't like the fight. Wilder already beat Stiverne by winning every round. But the ****** WBC ordered the fight and Wilder is the WBC champ. He has no choice but to fight Stiverne of forfeit his WBC world title.

Allowing Ortiz to fight Wilder creates a dangerous precedent and renders VADA testing pointless. Consequences.

No, that is not how words work.

And that's also not how the WBC works.

Stiverne was the champion and moved down the rankings when he lost. Then he moved up the rankings when other people lost. This is how rankings work in boxing.

Yea it's a lost cause. I just wonder what the case woulda been if he declared that he was taking that medication to begin with.
