Why do some seem content with wilder vs stiverne?

Seems to me the ortiz fight should go forward if vada has the necessary info about the blood pressure meds, and even wilder says he wants the fight still. If he got straight up popped for peds, then that's a different story...but to my understanding, all the tests were normal outside the predictable abnormality caused by the medication. But instead we get another pos fight. This fight should be boycotted by all. Getting tired of useless matchups.

I agree. But I don't know the behind sences, however Antonio traver (be it as it may) was one of the first to report this match up. I don't understand and I guess for my sake I am not trying to. Wilder opponent is bs. Plain and simple.

Boycotted lol. That sounds so formal in talking about just not watching a fight like we all decide to do from time to time.

But if the WBC requires boxers to not have banned substances in their system & they are now saying Wilder gots to fight Bermane next he gots to fight Bermane next or risk being stripped of his belt. I mean I'm sure its a viable option & its been or is being considered to risk losing his title for this fight, but ultimately while titles are of less value then they've ever been, there is still value in holding a belt & for Wilder specifically there is a sexy unification opportunities with Joshua worth a career high payday looming that makes the juice not worth the squeeze.

It sucks for fans cuz fans just wanna see the best possible fight that can be made for any given guy at any given time, but the free market element of boxing + the powers in boxing that can steer things towards or away from specific boxers tend to make treading lightly a mainstay at this level of the game so its not like many guys in Wilder's position would put himself in a potentially bad spot with a abc group.

What’s Wilder supposed to do give up his title? He’s not going to do that.

            Yea...not like it's ppv...maybe a petition would be better.
Between what conte said about it and the fact that wilder still wants to fight...the wbc should just let the damn fight happen. I don't blame wilder for doing what he's gotta do, but to have to endure wilder vs stiverne when such a good fight was lined up is a bitter pill. Especially when it looks like the positive test isn't really cuz of peds.

This fight should have happened in July or August. Wilder would have gotten that mandatory out of the way and then go after all the other belt holders.

LOL yea thats the real problem I think most of us have with all of this. I can't imagine very many people are excited for Wilder vs Bermane II despite that being Wilder's toughest opponent as a pro.

Ortiz &/or his team effed up doe. They caused this issue. Not Wilder for sure. And the WBC arguably had their hands tied or risk making their Clean Boxing program just another mockery in a long history of mockery's by abc groups.

The underrated angle to all this is EVERY boxer who cares about his career should be checking & double checking anything they are using that COULD contain banned substances. And certainly any medicine you are taking needs to be vetted with someone in the know about banned substances. This is really basic sh^t yet guys keep f#cking it up & got to plead they are the victim, but I'd argue they are usually a victim of their own ignorance or carelessness with their own career &/or body more than anything else.

Another issue is the anti doping agencies don't seem to offer any support...it looks better for them if they're catching people dirty. Apparently the medications ortiz was taking wouldn't show up on the banned list cuz drug manufacturers use different names...but either way, it should be a no brainer to list any medication you're taking regardless. Definitely their **** up. But now that everyone knows, i don't know why they can't work around it...i mean the test are either gonna support that or they're not. According to conte they do, and also other athletes in different sports have been given a pass for the same type of meds.

Wilder's fights are always exciting and it's a great undercard.

If you like boxing, and you're a Showtime subscriber, it'd be silly to refuse to watch an entertaining show simply because we're disappointed that Ortiz cheated.

It could be a blessing in disguise as getting his mandatory out of the way now clears the way for some interesting fights in 2018 for Wilder.
